I think Vinnie knew Ace wouldn't last after the reunion and thought for sure Kiss would bring him back on board in the ankh makeup. That's probably why he seems all chipper in some interviews around that time (and was even willing to wear the ankh makeup at a convention). When that didn't happen (and Kiss ordered him to stop wearing the makeup) and Ace lasted longer than he thought, he started suing them again.

I always thought it would've been cool to see the Ankh Warrior and Catman in the same lineup... since the Fox and the Spaceman were together once.
