We were speaking in the kiss section and as much as we tried I don't think anyone could think of someone better musically for kiss than vv. Ofcourse this is based on 80s vinnie .

He could still play any of Ace's stuff left handed! :)

VV could just look at a guitar and the sound that would come out of it would be better than Ace's playing....well current Ace always.

It was perfection for sure in 1983. Musical perfection.

Two albums of fantastic material, and some of the best live versions of older songs.

I think George lynch would have run vinnie close. Its amazing that most people over looked vv as a guitar master.

I love George, but he can't write songs. The difference between VV & other guitarists. George can add great topping to the cake, but can't bake the cake. George isn't the only one like that, VV WAS the exception.

I don't know about that. I think the 80's Dokken stuff with Lynch is phenomenal.

Back in the 80's Vinnie could've been a perfect fit for ANY band if he would've kept his ego in check. Had the skills, had the look, etc.

But having heard the Warrior stuff, IMO Vinnie could've rocked on his own too (guitar, lead vocals, songwriting, etc.) with a revolving door backing band if need be. I would've probably preferred it that way (yes, I'm in the minority here) and logistically it would make more sense with his need for control (and no need for the revolving door of lead singers.)

This is still one of my favorite Cusano recordings, love Vinnie's voice:

Vinnie has only himself to blame for that. Randy Rhoads probably put out more material than Vinnie and he died at 25.

well the problem is kiss were not super credible back in the 80s, even if the early 80s stuff is now.

Also VV only really played on 4 albums plus partially work on creatures.

Treasure
Lick it up
VVI
ASG

For a guy of his talent that is no where near enough.

its hard to believe that vv hasn't even guested on a record or done session work since his last release in 1988. I can not believe how he burned himself this bad. I am thinking he may have done something for Felix in the early 90s but I dont really know.

even if it's in the early 90's it's a lot of time !
Maybe he cannot play guitar for a reason but that is no excuse !
maybe he punished the world (because of KISS injustice) by not making music
anymore or something like that , he denied the fans the privilege of listening to him.
But it's weird , remember the broken finger at the expos ? he didn't wanna shred for a reason.
No comments on this ?

Yes, if only Vinnie was as nice as his talent was huge. Ruling the rock world would not have been out of the question. Instead, he rules his bedroom.

we know he has been seen selling country tunes and that many people confirmed he was demoing country tunes as early as 1990 but he could have easily made a career of session work and writing.
It has to be severe depression plus his very bad choices.

if he just came out and said he suffers from severe depression and panic attacks like many have said including Grover and Felix he could at least have a partial excuse. I dont think any excuse for what he has done to fans etc but at least people could understand he is not functioning.

The first step to getting better is admitting you have a problem.

But if he suffers from a mental disorder, he can get professional help. His wife can have him committed for 48 hours for observation.
