I know guitarists love sustain but anyone know what rock guitar set up drops out the most ... Has the least sustain.

Roll your pickups all the way down, or use a gate with your rig,

good idea. I suppose a bolt on with rosewood board would also help.

Any combo can have bad sustain if that's what you want. My Charvel SD1 is bolt on with rosewood and it is great.
With low quality guitars it's getting good sustain that's the trick sometimes.
Low gain on your amp will help with losing sustain too.

Hey Dino, I just noticed your avatar is of Vinnie WITHOUT MAKEUP in Rio from the Creatures tour, NOT the Lick It Up tour (just noticed the Creatures shirt Animal is wearing and the July '83 down in the left hand corner).
Okay, carry on...

so you're wanting to do Pantera-type stop-start staccato riffs or something along those lines? Get a gate!
