Ok, the story here is that Kiss Sacrifice was a fanzine I helped a friend of mine start back in '91 or '92. The idea back then was for a fanzine that concentrated on only makeup era Kiss, but for our second issue we completely sold out and did a Revenge Tour special!!

Mark, my friend was not very computer savvy so we did it together the old fashioned way and after that I let him go on his own and helped out here and there as needed.

We got messages to Kiss, autographed stuff and pics of the guys holding past issues, the usual stuff like that.

When I got the first Kisstory book I was super glad to see the cover of Issue 1 (and others) at the back in fanzine section.

Mainly because it was our very lame first cover (by the second issue somone with talent had come up with a very cool logo) and I had hand drawn the No.1 part and there was a set of 'demon' eyes I had crudely done on a school computer in MS Paint. And there it was in Kisstory, ha ha.

I loved Kiss Sacrifice! Still do :D

I have issue 9 - 18 + a couple of special issues. Was # 18 the last one? Why did Mark stop it and what is he up to these days ?

Cheers

I've got about 10 or 12 issues of this still, i think they got past issue 18, it's hard to remember though because it's about 14 years ago now

I would have to have a look at my issues to see what number it went up to, I can't remember either.

Like a lot of things the momentum got lost and Mark stopped doing it. He's still around but with the advent of the internet things in the Kiss trading scene changed a lot. My brother actually keeps in touch with him more than I do, though I've seen his sister at the shops a bit, she lives in my area.

It was good fun. Mark did have some special mini binders made up which are very cool, I 'm not sure how many people got those.

I remember this binders Vic, I remember them being expensive too :D I think sacrifice got into the 20's...I used to buy a lot of merch from Mark, back when I was 19 years old!

Cool, I think I got my binders for free!!! or maybe not!!!

Mark was HUGE in the Kiss trading scene before Ebay and the Internet in general.

His problem with collecting is he had a LOT of interests besides Kiss, which was the biggest. He would collect Christina Applegate, Addams Family, Munsters, Elvira. He had sooo much stuff.

I remember that he liked all those other things... He was also strictly into kiss from 1973 to 1983... He had some ridiculously rare stuff that would blow me away... There was another guy though Clinton Meredith who had probably the biggest kiss collection in Australia, I knew one of his friends here in Brisbane who had a collectibles store and he used to send him doubles of kiss merch from the 70's and early 80's to sell in his store..

Clinton was a good friend of Mark's, he liked Kiss and other stuff too. He had two Kiss pinball machines, one with regular SS's for Germany I guess, and a Ted Nugent one. He was also into cheesy 70's stuff like HR Puff n Stuff. He was also on TV in 1980 as a little Kiss fan dressed as Peter Criss as he won a competition to see them and there were problems with him getting there due to strike action.

We helped Clinton set up a stand at the Revenge launch party at Dannii's old haunt, the Cobra Club. That was a great night.

Awesome! I can't believe the rail went on strike in Sydney during the two kiss concerts, that's why they had attendance issues on night 2! Is Clinton still a kiss fan? I've heard of him for many years now...

Clinton was a bigger fan of original Kiss than Mark. He was booing during the 95 Sydney Convention, from the back!!!! I think he's still a fan but like a lot of guys has tamed it down a bit.

I'm a big fan but have moved on from the collecting I used to do.

Yeah fair enough, I stopped collecting too, I had bulk merch, so much it got out of hand...in a way kiss continuing post 2001 has tarnished their history...just my opinion...I'm nowhere the fan that i was 15 years ago...

Thanx for the information on Kiss Sacrifice/Mark.

I too stopped collecting a couple of years ago, sold alot of my collection. But I kept my Kiss Sacrifice mags because they were so unique compared to other Kiss fanzines at the time. If anybody can hook me up with issues I am missing I am very interested.

Genebaby - Maybe you or your brother could ask Mark how many issues were done ?

I snuck into that one! Just as they started the autograph session I flashed my Brisbane pass and I got in! Still couldn't get near G & P though!!!! At least I got to see all the costumes and stuff!

Clinton is a HARD CORE original Kiss fan, well, at least he was. Remember, he dressed in full Peter Criss costume for the Umasked tour even though Peter was out and Eric was in.

I can't remember what he was booing about but something made him do it.

Too bad we couldn't have met up and discussed our future here!!

Ok, cool, your missing a few at the start and whatever happened after 18. I think they might show up on Ebay sometime too, do a saved search and Ebay will alert you when they show up so you don't have to keep checking.

I can't recall a cover like that, but it may have happened. There were some issues with coloured covers.
