I always figured they changed the cover as the costumes were out of date? Doesn't seem violent at all. I got the CD and vinyl of this.

I haven't given it a listen like that. I just checked out the new version of Sweet Pain. I like the original version of the solo better.

I have to disagree. I prefer the Ace solo.

Supposedly Queen for a Day was gonna be Ace's vocal debut on Destroyer. Nowadays Gene claims that tune or demo never existed.

You would think ace would have used it after kiss seen as he struggled for material.

it does sounbds better, Ezrin has gìdone a great job, even corrrecting a mistake in one of the lyrics.

The Ace solo was just a guideline solo, he was supposed to lay another solo, but Ezrin and gene and paul didn't want to lose any time so they just asked Dick to do it.

The major issue for Ace was that nobody told him until he heard the final mix.

even on youtube god of thunder sounds so much better, having the sound effects and the kids was genius. i can not believe gene let Ezrin have his kids talk all the way through the song. Total genius idea in my opinion. I wish they would use the sound effects live

i think the best drumming of any kiss record too and i guess it was more down to Ezrin than Peter or equally at least.

The remix is pretty amazing. The album sounds so lush and has so much going on.
I like the Ace solo because it's the Ace solo, but the Dick solo actually sounds more thought out IMO.

I hope this remix album is successful and KISS lets other producers remix classic...and not so classic...KISS albums so that we get updated versions with bonus material. As I've said before, the producer of CRAZY NIGHTS has stated in interviews that he would love to remix that album to tone down the keyboards and emphasize the guitars and bass. They could also include the several tracks they recorded but didn't include like SWORD AND THE STONE, TIME TRAVELER, etc.

i dont usually like digitally remastered stuff but this is good. maybe good because Ezrin and not Kiss did it.

it seems that remix was more the label idea than the band's,according to what paul has said.

About the drumming, Ezrin pushed Criss over the edge and peter also remembered the marching drum patterns he learnrd when he was a kid.So it was a combination of things.Peter said tha t it was hard work but discovred a lot of things and liked the final result.

Which is why they need to let the professionals do what they do and not interfere.

It's also why someone who is not a real professional should not be producing top tier albums. *cough* Paul Stanley *cough*

Peter isnt technically brilliant but he has feel and a love of gene krupa and is capable of something machine like drummers are not.

I know I am late on this topic... but just picked up my copy of it today on CD..
I think it sounds great ! May not be of interest to everyone, but something every true fan/collector should pick up.

Gene always talks about releasing his big "unreleased demos" box set. I would LOVE that. But I would also love to hear an Ace unreleased demos box set. (I've got a couple of CDs of bootleg demos that most of you have probably heard, but highest available quality and songs we've never heard would be great!)

I would only wanna here shitty demos if they accompanied a new studio version of the song.

Nah. I love the idea of hearing the creative process and how songs developed. Even those that eventually stalled. It's a view into the artist and where they were at creatively and personally at any given time.

Riffs or other ideas that were eventually used in other songs, etc...

I hate that they used Monster for the latest CD cuz I thought it was a perfect title for Gene's solo boxset.
