Hey Lazies and Germs,
I want to share some cool Kiss items that I got from a friend this weekend.
I have wanted this particular coin for a while and have known my friend had it
stuffed away in a box
.
Upon
fingering the box
,
I came across other cool coins.
I now have the Australia 1980 Kiss coin (in Gold):
I also received both red and silver 1979 Kiss Mardi Gras coins:
This is the one I really wanted. 1983 COTN Mardi Gras coin :

Great coins. Maybe they accept those as payment for meet and greats.

I was never into the coins...because it felt like they were WAY too mass produced to be "special" or worth the price. But those older ones were definitely produced in much more limited quantities...and were cooler to boot.

Which coins are you talking about that were mass produced? Are there other ones besides these?
Aren't the Mardi Gras ones tokens to be used at the time only?

I believe he is talking about the coins from the late 1990's and onward.

I don't think I've noticed those. I always thought the 79 ones were cool, with the RNRO artwork.
Sonic Boom would not look as cool as a coin, ha ha.

Shram is correct about the order.
In the picture above, it is Eric that looks like Tommy to me.

Sadly they were bootlegged at some point and if you have one they are easily spotted. The sides of the coin have a seam on them where the originals do not. Also the huge dead give away is the finnish. I have one original gold coin that is like gold chrome, and is like a mirror, the boots are not like this at all. I had some of the bootleg coins at one time. It was a big wharehouse find that was really a bunch of bull... as they didnt compare with the originals in any way. The gold was dull, and the edges were un even and rough and they had that seam on the side of the coin where the press plates came toether... I did find an original on ebay... and the photo is good enough to see the nice finnish. Hope you all have aoriginals....

Looks a bit amateur but as a collector you'd want them too.
