Watching this video, I SEE someone (Vinnie) that poured his heart and soul into an album only to have label execs and bozos like Strum cut and paste the album.
Vinnie looks like a beaten/defeated man that has been pushed to exhaustion.
Having gotten wind of the Strum /Slaughter/Chrysalis plans to defect must have been painful.
Luckily , the fans that cared could still hear the genius within the snipped tunes and watered down production.

I wanna hear what Vinnie meant the album to sound like.
In this day and age he only has to answer to himself. Record at his house and release things at his discretion.

I had completely forgotten about them opening for Aerosmith. One of the problems with the label delaying the release.

I had touched on before the problem with merchandise for the ASG. I think Vinnie wanted like a $100,000 advance. I could be wrong on the amount. But what happened is...after the big tour fell through..... then Vinnie is still wanting the "big advance" when there's far less reason to justify it.

But just goes to show what could have happened if the cd had come out earlier...before the "Mark focus" b.s. etc.

Yeah Vinnie kinda looks Defeated there Dana Strum has always seemed like a transparent opprotunist to me...true to form. I think it's possible if everyone in the band much less the label would have been behind the album and stuck with it a while longer they may have really broken through. I've met Bobby Rock a couple times he's far from a close personal friend but I got the sense that the friction came primarly from Dana then Mark. I may be way off base on that but that was my impression. Of Course it's possible Bobby just didn't wanna speak bad of VVI because like a typical fanboy that's all I asked him about...hell of a nice guy too. The thing is if Vinnie and Bobby would have stuck together I think they could have made a name for the band without Mark and Dana...they were the 2 greatest musicians in that band IMO

Remember a week or so ago when you asked about Nightmare. Vinnie gives ya the answer I pretty much told ya in this interview.

Also, alot of talk about how that tour did. Well, of course, they weren't at a point where they should have been headlining. VV talks about that as well.


Aerosmith--I think they were supposed to pick up the 2nd leg of the tour that began Jan 16, 1988. VVI would have been alot better for the fans than either Dokken or White Lion. Ted Nugent or Cheap Trick.



Also kinda funny to remember when VVI toured with Iron Maiden--Maiden broke some attendance records. When Ace opened for them on next tour- tour cut short .

Isn't it ironic that Vinnie hooked up with "Mini $immons" after he left KISS? Or as Vinnie would say, the used car salesman who he never saw play his instrument .
