GPS: KISS Landmarks Vol. 1

Post by WizKid »

This week on the Decibel Geek Podcast Aaron & Chris are joined by author Chris Epting ('All I Need to Know I Learned from KISS: Life Lessons from the Hottest Band in the Land') for a discussion of KISS geography.

Over 25 different locations important to KISS' (and our) life are discussed in this episode including rehearsal spaces, ampitheatres, baseball stadiums, high schools, recording studios, television studios, amusement parks and more.

Also, in the show post on the official Decibel Geek website are the actual addresses of these locations as well as many then-and-now photos.

Chris Epting is the author of 20 travel/history books, including James Dean Died Here (Santa Monica Press), Roadside Baseball (McGraw Hill) and most recently Hello It's Me, Dispatches From a Pop Culture Junkie (Santa Monica Press). He has contributed articles for such publications as the Los Angeles Times, Westways and Travel + Lesiure magazine, and writes a weekly newspaper column for the Huntington Beach Independent. In addition, Chris writes for AOL Music and is a frequent talk show guest, appearing on shows including National Public Radio, the E! Channel and Access Hollywood.

We thank Chris for being a part of this fun globetrotting discussion.

Damn WizKid, u got me all nostalgic!

I gotta go to the loft every time I visit NYC (as my shirt would imply, Whitesnake used to rehearse there too).

Who owns the loft? Is it run as a KISS touristy thing?
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

One side of the loft is a comic book store and the actual room Kiss rehearsed in is now some sorta business.
