We discuss July-December of 1979. News stories include Disco Demolition Night, the Who stampede tragedy in Cincinnati, The World Series of Rock, & Led Zeppelin's final shows. We also discuss musical releases by AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, The Clash, and Uli Jon Roth's Electric Sun among MANY others. Also includes retro commercials from 1979. Enjoy! Awesome memories from'79: Kiss Dynasty, Salem's Lot, DC Superhero Roast TV Special, seeing Alien at the drive-in, me and my brother dressing as Dracula and Frankenstein for Halloween, Mego Superhero "dolls," the Black Hole, the Star Trek movie... the list goes on! I remember my neighbor having the Kiss Dynasty "Super Kiss" poster with all four in the new colorful costumes and thinking "wtf? Those costumes rock!"

Electric Sun Earthquake was a groundbreaking album! I'm a huge Uli Jon Fan but if you are too we may not have much company here on our appreciation for Uli. :-) Uli just should have hired a singer though. Some of these guys are great players and below average singers - Roth, Satriani, Vai,Tipton etc. They need to hand the mic to someone else :-)
