I saw them with Ripper about 10 years ago.
Ian's job has always been to stand there and rock!
I just wish Rob would engage the crowd more these days, he IS meant to be the front man after all!

i have no idea about rob besides what i had commented on in another thread about being a mix of stage fright and thinking the fans havent accepted him because he's gay.
i think secretly people always knew as soon as he put on the leather and the way he walked SOMETIMES.
they didnt care tho

It was a bit obvious. My wife saw the Screaming For Vengeance show on video and was like, how gay is that guy. It's true, he was hiding I plain sight, with his gay biker look.
I wish he would look at his fans again, it spoils everything.

but its never a sure thing anymore. look at prince......same kind of swagger as freddie mercury or rob halford......and he'd steal your girlfriend while u were busy thinking he was gay

For whatever reason, When I play bass on stage, I'm more comfortable hanging next to the drummer and allowing the singer and guitarists be frontmen. It doesn't mean that I Rock LESS.
That being said, Juan is my favorite bass frontman . He actually has some tasty fills and keeps a solid pump and groove going while he entertains. You can hear that the band is FOLLOWING HIM !!!! They sure as fuck aren't following Blotzer.

Juan is great. Being the main guitarist or singer means being visible and interacting with the crowd. The bass hanging back with the drums is cool.

Saw Priest three times: 2002, 2004, and 2009. Ian rocks.

Johnny rod and jeff pilson were bass players who gave everything live.

Steve Harris is probably still the most active bass player. He can play ok too!
