vinnie could have brought in a keyboard player, and an fx rack for each of the band members. then they could have gone totally off with a dizzying array of solos, dual, triple, quadruple-solos, and sound effects.

I like this idea, but also the guy could write a damn good pop song and they were trying to go for "hits". In a perfect world, the first album would be the mainstream public's taste, but it's not. The best thing would've been for Vinnie to have a side project full of jerk off solos and displays of virtuosity and also have the Invasion.

Or combine the two projects, tell Chrysalis and Dana to fuck off, and not care about fleeting, mainstream acceptance.
