Ha ha, I was watching that one through to the end. Went for a good price in the end still. Some great buying in these Charvels and they aren't even made anymore like that.

When you say a good price....did you mean cheap?
I thought the price seemed good from a buyer's perspective.

Yes, that's what I meant, a good price for the buyer.

This is the much talked about, and wanted, fixed bridge model they brought out as the limited edition wildcard for that run.

Ha ha, I'm not sure about that deal, sounds a bit familiar and fishy to me too!
Well, you're not THAT far away, and the guitars should always be there, so never say never. It's too cold now for me to do much playing unless I need to learn a new song.

Will be better when I get a new/2nd hand guitar

On the hunt now and saving too....
Vic, that guitar, my God ! (pun intended)
I think my family would lynch me!
I grew up in a VERY religious family, father was an Anglican minister.
I think they'd take it as an insult
I work right near this one too!

No, it's not for me, much as I like Strathead Jacksons and Charvels. It is good for you and also of interest to Andrew, being a Maiden fan.

Here's what looks to be a good one!

He says it's a Fusion, which had the Gibson scale length, but it doesn't have the horn scoops of a fusion and seems neck thru, but you can't see the back, so it could be a soloist.
Either, seems like a good guitar.

It's a little old for my liking.
Trying to avoid rusty screws/trem etc.

3 bids in the last minutes and it still didn't go up!

I would really only want a Japanese Ibanez, and I have kinda been wanting one, crazy as that would be.
Don't discount that Jackson, it is a superb guitar, it is exactly a US Soloist, just made in Japan. My Charvel 750XL and Rhoads Pro are examples.
If it goes cheap it will be a bargain.

Cool, I wasn't sure as I was looking on my phone, but I had a feeling that Team J was a good thing.
I know Ibanez have premium model guitars that are still not made in Japan, and that the newest Jems aren't made their either anymore, is that right?
It wasn't my favourite look for an Ibanez guitar that one, but still a bargain. I don't watch those so didn't see it. Things are bad enough keeping an eye on the Charvels and Jacksons.

Yes, I saw that one.
Not my colour choice, and I need a neck pickup, that's my pickup of choice these days.
Great price! And now 12 watchers with no sale.....

It would be nice Kev, I am always looking when I shouldn't be buying. That is how I ended up with the last Flame Charvel, which I do love.
I have I think three guitars with only one him bucker Jason and I do like a neck pickup too so one day the GMW will probably get one, but I'll leave the factory built guitars original.
My one Soloist has two single cools, a setup I don't like at all, but back then I grabbed anything and Custom Soloists are just that, custom, so it is what it is.
Good luck in the hunt. I'll keep suggesting until you get one you like.

The 2nd hand Ibanez Prestige lose so much money, which is good for me.
I'm looking at those ALOT! At least I know what to expect.
Model that sell around $1500 you can be lucky and get for $500 if you're lucky with a case made to fit.
If I got one for $500 and a ARZ800 for the same or less I'd be cheering !
I like the look of the Charvels but have never, ever, had my mits on one.
I would love to hear from someone who has both
Anyone ?

Basically, Charvels are better than Ibanez's. My tattoo would say Ibanez if they were that good. These Charvels have lost lots of money too, I can't believe how cheap this one is. I want to grab it for the sake of it!!!
Look for reviews of the Charvel Pro Mod series. They started in the US with a gig bag (like my Flame Up, which is a special edition like this one) and then moved to Japan with a case where they made the edges of the fretboard a little more worn in. Otherwise they are the same. Some say the fretwork on Japanese ones are better than USA, I've only had one of each and both a fine.
The other thing is they don't make these anymore. Production moved to Japan and then the entire Jackson/Charvel factory in Japan closed down. A lot of awesome guitars were made there.
The only Ibanez I would entertain owning is an old, Japan made 6 string Jem in white, or one of the 25th Anniversary RG550's, for shits and giggles. The single coil in the middle would still annoy me though.

Ppppfffffftttttt!!!!!!!
Best guitar is the one you like to play!
There are some good deals on the Charvels though…if you like chunky necks, only 22 frets and a huge heel joint!!!
Don't discount the Indo made Premium range from Ibanez. Reading a lot of good things about them. Nice maple top on them. I've seen a couple of them go cheap lately.

The necks aren't chunky, they are perfect on these Stratheads. They are a different profile to the pointy headstock Charvels, no idea why, they have always done them this way, even in the 80's in the beginning.
The fretboard on my GMW was thicker than the original and now that neck is too chunky, it's annoying.
At this stage I am staying away from guitars not made in the USA or Japan, and there are PLENTY of Jacksons that I still consider crap that were made in the Japanese factory. The early stuff and these last Charvels were good, everything in between was not made as well, which was for a reason, as they didn't want the Japanese line to outsell the US stuff, which is what was happening as the quality was the same but the price was lower.

Actually, the guitarist replacing me in the band has a Belman Strat (I don't think he made many) with a Floy and he had a go on my Flame Up earlier tonight and he thought the neck was thin!
His Belman isn't super chunky, but the shape is more D and sticks out in the middle. He tried to have the action lowered and I think they did their best as the guitar seems to have an issue, which is why I think he may not have made many Floyded strats before this one. Currently the Floyd sits on the body but it really needs to go lower so the action can be better, but to do that you would need to either raise the neck in the pocket or recess the Floyd into the guitar body.
I told him to give me Anthony Belman's number and I'll tell him his guitar is flawed. The guy he bought it from knows Mr Belman apparently.

Is Belman the guitars from Brisbane that the guy in The Little River Band uses?

They were based in Melbourne. Not sure if LRB ever used them. I had heard of them so I was impressed when I saw he was playing one. I used my Aussie (Canberra) made Vance Strat for a long time, but it does have a Charvel logo, so unless you asked me and I told you, you would think it was a Charvel custom.
