Vinnie could have been much much bigger, greater , maybe the best
It's incredible how some experiences can eclipse a complete whole life for some individuals.
He is a special guy and he will be remembered as one of the best musicians/songwriters ever.

Its hard to think friedman didnt get writing credit on hanger 18. Sounds so much like dragons kiss and go off at times. Credit to mustaine for giving him freedom.
I would love to hear vv play in megadeth is all I am saying.
I was a huge friedman fan before he joined megadeth. He used to write bto me in 87.. 88 .. 89 when he lived in san Francisco. I met him at a rust in peace tour show and he remembered me and even part of my home address.

I laughed hard when Mustaine said that Chris Broderick was the first lead guitarist in Megadeth that he didn't have to give ideas to on what to do in the solos! As if Mustaine even remotely could have been an influence on Marty's exoticness! Broderick is very, very good no doubt but doesn't have the magic of Marty. '90-'95 was the peak for Megadeth.

Solo wise mustaine surely had no influence. Marty was only 23 and not used to style of music so I can see mustaine working with him but hanger 18 sounds 60% cacophony to me.
