Just wanted to get some feedback from you guys. I posted a video on youtube last night of the song "Back on the Streets" (VVI version) with some added tracks (drums, bass and keys). It is basically a remix and remaster of the song. I wanted to know what you guys think about it because I am certain most people on this forum know the song backwards and forwards. I personally think it is one of VV best recorded works. I want to rerecord this song from scratch, but in the meantime, I decided to play around with the original track. I wanted to hear it with a different bass line, more pronounced drums (Kick, snare, toms and high-hat) and some keyboards on the chorus. One of the hardest things to overcome while recording this (and something that surprised me) is that the drums break time after each "floor tom w/ bass drum fill". The original drum track does not stay consistent with the set click track and it deviates from the timing after each verse to pre-chorus, and pre-chorus to chorus, then back to the verses. Triggering the drums was a little bit tricky.

Some metalsludge comments about the posted remix were:

1.) Guitar's too loud.

2.) Great song. Don't hear any difference though. The drum sound on that album sucked big time.

3.) Remix? You have the multi-track tapes?
I think you mean, remaster... as in you added EQ to it Damian Bandana.

4.) I still prefer Fleischmann to Slaughter.
Can't believe that's the guy who was Journey's singer for a hot minute though.

The drum intro sounded more natural that's for sure! Acoustic guitars really stand out! Cool bananas!
