Can we just make it a VVFF law that any VV material with JSS singing not be allowed to be posted ?

JSS performs some nice background vocals on the tunes but his lead vox lick elephant sac.

JSS should sing about Vikings and Hell or just FUCK OFF !

No we cannot!! Deal with it. :) :)

I am sure I am going to love this when I get to hear it at home later.

I love this demo, can't wait. :)

Ah, now I've had a listen, very nice, I do like this song and JSS' vocals too. :)

Rick, he totally suits this song that Vinnie wrote in the hopes of getting some publishing.

I agree with Rick! I'd prefer it was "forbidden" (<---nyuk nyuk nyuk) too.

The song is fine by the way, just not for JSS' voice! But of course it is a demo to be honest.

"Tell me why? Why am I a VIKING!!!!" Bwaaarrrrhahaha

I dig it, sounds like it should be on a Rocky soundtrack.

Yes! I've always thought Gypsy sounded like a song written by Christopher Cross for the Arthur movies!

Forgot to say well done (as usual) to Damo for his playing! :)

I thought the exact same thing. I was seriously considering calling it "Theme From Rocky VII" and using the Rocky font as the screen image.

Thank you Shram & GB!!!

I went and found this interview I read a few years ago of Jeff talking about working with Vinnie for this demo.
MetalKings.com: It is also a well-known fact that you worked with ex-KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent. How did it come around?

Jeff Scott Soto: Well, I actually sang background vocals on the 2nd album of Vinnie Vincent Invasion "All Systems Go" (1988). And some time later Vinnie contacted me and asked to sing on several demos he made because he wanted to shop them to various record companies to get the new record deal.

MetalKings.com: So can you tell me more about Vinnie as a person? He's said to be quite weird...

Jeff Scott Soto: No, he was never like that with me. He was very kind and treated me very well. I was at his home and we recorded everything fast and I never got to know that side of his personality that many people talk about.

Wow Rick, I'm really surprised that you dislike the JSS/VV collaboration so much. I love the demos that they did together. He is one of my favorite vocalists. I'm guessing that you're not of a fan of JSS's work with The Boogie Knights either.

To be honest, I find him at his best when the vocals demand a manly growl to them.
I don't think that his voice lends itself well to subtleties. He is very pitchy when SINGING melodically compared to growling melodically. Make sense?

I do enjoy The Boogie Knights though. Right up my alley. Very fun !!!!

LOL...do tell. What happened with JSS Rick.
When I spoke to JSS he called VV a 'crazy cat that wanted him to sing real high pitch all the time'.
And just my observation, but JSS seemed a very confident, Anthony 'Banana Hands' Robbins type of guy.

When I met JSS , I didn't even bother asking about VV. I asked him to sing ,"I Am A Viking". He told me that I had a better chance of hearing the Journey bodyguard sing it than him (JSS was hanging out on tour with Journey probably as a possible security net for Steve Augeri who was on his last legs with the band because they used that boy's voice up).

As much stick as mark slaughter gets he was way better for vv than jeff or Goran. Ashes to Ashes or love kills with either one of them and the songs start to sink.

Yeah. His best performance to date. The zeppelin style really suits vv more than the aor rock or viking hell singer in my opinion.

Yes, & then the 'Queen' type (mixed in with the Def Leopard-ish) backing vocals hit the spot for VVI.

Yes the queen leopard thing worked. My guess Dana involved in that at least partially.
