Randy Rhoads

Thanks to Randy Rhoads, I am a big fan of old Ozzy stuff, mainly up to No More Tears, after that it gets shakier and shakier.

Randy though, is another of my absolute favourite guitar heroes. What he could do with six strings was amazing and like a lot of others I am pissed beyond belief that he was taken so early from us.

Listening to him play on Tribute you can hear a master at work as he effortlessly makes it all seem easy. For such a little guy he had a massive sound and ability.

The dodgy bootlegs that are available show him prowling the stage, dominating it, yet he was so quiet off stage. He really transformed when playing live.

I was so excited to hear earlier this year that special 30th Anniversary editions of Blizzard and Diary were supposed to be released for Thanksgiving, which has now come and gone. No real word has come but I think they are delayed until 2011 now.

I was so excited as not only were these editions going to restore the bass and drum tracks removed in a totally blasphemous act in 2002 by Sharron, but also they would have previously unseen live concert footage for Randy, which has somehow come to light after all these years.

Fuck, it's about time someone "found" this footage for the fans to see, there are only so many times you can watch After Hours, and it's annoying when Randy is soloing and the show Rudy or Ozzy, what a waste!!!!!

C'mon Sharon, get these albums out!!!!!!!!!!!! Redeem yourself.

I couldn't agree more, he was so fluid and inspired, a true legend.

I recall my brother's band playing tunes off the first two albums. They used to practice at my grandma's house.
I remember sitting on the blue crushed velvet couch in my parents living room when my mom walked into the room with the newspaper and informed me and my brothers that he died in a plane crash.

What a shit day that was. Laycock robbed us of Randy and his future musical greatness.

Now Randy will be forever young and we can but wonder what might have been.

I am dying to see this lost footage that is meant to be coming out.

The backing tracks are cool, it's good they put them in the games and then they can be used.

Good news! Great actually! Lee Kerslake confirmed there is at least 2 completed songs recorded with Randy that haven't been released! Bad news………well, no need to say what that is! I think we all know WHO the problem is!!!

I can't believe that's true, all this time and he never said anything before? Of course we need to hear them if they exist and the new box set would have been a great way to do it.
