Wish List for 2011

Would it not be great for KISS to put out the whole pro shot show from
Cascals Hall Lisbon, Portugal Oct 11, 1983 instead of just the two clips that are on the Kissology Vol 2 ?

I would be thrilled.

Also, I'm also always hearing about demos of Back On The Streets w/Paul Stanley singing on it from the LIU era.

That whole show would be totally frickin' awesome!! No doubt about that. There is so much stuff Kiss have yet to give us.

I believe the demo with Paul singing is on Youtube but I haven't found it.

I have always heard that the version of Back on the Streets with Paul Stanley singing was one of the best versions according to Vinnie. I have never heard this but if some one ever comes across a copy PLEASE post it on the forum so that we can all enjoy this.

Many thanks

Kev

Are there any pro shot video shows out there from the Lick It Up era?

There would be, we just don't have them strangely enough. Most things get released to the bootleg market but I haven't seen a whole Lick It Up show unfortunately.

I've got a LIU bootleg Video. Shot from the side...It's Ok...not great...wouldn't call it pro. Vinnie goes off... think Gene & Paul have the sh!ts with him in it. Solo goes on for ever.

There is also an interview with vinnie when he said the kiss version was not good, I think its on this board.. the trouble with interviews the journalists fuck up a lot on quotes so who knows what he said really.

"Looking ahead, Stanley says work has begun on "KISSOLOGY IV," the fourth in a series of DVDs that chronicle KISS' history. It will include live footage of the band's 2009 show at Cobo Hall in Detroit as well as classic footage from the KISS vaults. He agrees when it is suggested that chronology is no longer necessary for the series, and that should items missing from the first three discs be discovered - such as pro-shot shows from the "Lick It Up" and "Asylum" tours - they should be included."

Glad to see that some others are thinking the same thing.

I will, of course, keep buying the Kissology sets but am disappointed that they couldn't have done them correctly the first time by keeping them chronological and including all eras of the band.

I'm quite sure G&P will do some superduper special remastered limited edition Kissology chronological order boxset blueray set to sell it's fan base for nominal fee.

I think there's an DEMO of Euphoria floating around I still have to listen. Would love for that one to pop-up eventually...

The Vinnie Euphoria? Isn't that listed in the bootleg section here?

Yes that one, and no, at least I wasn't able to find it there. HOWEVER, I did eventually found it on KISStory Volume 24 after a whole night in google, so its all good now, :3

Apparently it's an Alternate Cut, but I believe it's just the version from the Guitarmageddon sessions.

Well, I'll be dammed, KISStory Volume 24 could be easily called "The Guitars from Hell bootleg in good quality".

I hadn't heard that version. Every version I had found sounded like different quality levels of the same one I had heard over and over. Is there a place to download this version?

Look for a working torrent of KISStory Volume 24. Odds are you could eventually find a rapidshare or a megaupload if you look hard enough, but I eventually got a bit frustrated and went for a torrent that had ALL KISStories (there are 28 volumes) instead.

wish list.
VV puts out music at normal prices. Stops acting like a 8 year old school yard bully and seeks out a very good shrink.

OK, I listened to this version of Euphoria. My thoughts:
- MUCH better overall mix and tone than the Euphoria EP version
- A lot less Frankensteined cut & paster moments
- The rhythm guitar in the verses doesn't work as well as the EP version

In general, it sounds more "live" and the guitar solo is more interesting.

I think I might like it not only better than the Euphoria EP version, but a LOT better.

Why isn't this version o the Euphoria EP? Great mix and MUCH better!

I picture Vinnie endlessly tweaking and tweaking and tweaking, overthinking it until he was unable to separate himself from it, and eventually "produced" it until it had everything HE wanted.

that would explain him "programing" the drums. The alternate version/demo version has authentic drums, without a doubt...

At least I think they are...
