Like all the Quiet Riot albums, but really got into the 1988 release of QR. Very Whitesnake-ish vibe with Jimmy Waldo on keyboards.
This is the only Quiet Riot album which features Paul Shortino on Lead vocals.

Never heard that album - was never really a big fan of the band - i can hear the whitesnake influence as you say - i prefer the earlier stuff they did myself.

I worked for them on a Poison tour in 2001.

Kevin Dubrow= WORLD CLASS ASSHOLE .

Frankie Banali= Knew where his bread was buttered .. Overrated drummer.

Rudy Sarzo= Kept comparing situations to his days in Whitesnake.

Carlos Cavazo= Laid Back and cool. I believe he lost the high end of his hearing because his stage tone was beyond shrill.

I am glad Carlos is in Ratt now,he's got some nice solo work on the new album.

Never got in to QR much, even with Randy Rhoads. They had a few songs I didn't mind and I've taught my daughter the chorus to Bang Your Head, ha ha. The video for Wild And The Young is very 80's and cool.

I didn't pay attention at all when they replaced Kevin for that album and I'm not a big Kevin fan anyway (RIP).

Poison:

C.C.- BEYOND cool. Very personable. We share a deep admiration for Cheap Trick.
My friend Tom is his and EVH's tech.

Rikki- A genuine and cool guy. He always makes his way over to me and shoots the shit. I believe his Aunt was a mailman like I was.

Bobby- Hilarious yet troubled. He tries to put on the facade that he is the businessman of the band. I hope he gets himself together for the sake of his kids.

Brett- Spoke to him once. Nice enough.

Poison crew- The best people. Have welcome me to every tour after the 2001 tour . When I was having issues with QR ,they offered a job to me to keep me on the tour.

Did you know that of all people, Don Dokken named one of Dokken's recent albums "Hell To Pay" ?
The music is excellent.Jon Levin mimics Lynch really well. "Hell TOUPE'"-Funny as shit considering he has some of the most horrible looking rugs in rock.
He looks so much better without his wig. Big bald spot on the back of his head . SO WHAT !!!

A little off topic here but Hell Toupee was an episode title of some 80's show that John Ritter starred in, literally about a possessed toupee. I think the Simpsons ripped it off in a Halloween special.

Sixx, a wig wearer??? I never knew that!!!

I've only got the Randy QR stuff as I love the Rhoadster! Got the clips of C'mon, Mama and Wild & Young on video but that's it. QR 1 & QR 2 are pretty bad though and I can see why no-one in the US wanted to sign them. "Rock, rock, rock it, Woo! Rock, rock, rock it,Woo!" They were pretty tight on the "Starwood" bootleg video though! But DuBrow had some weird vocal things that he probably thought were cool sounding but are pretty lame. The way instead of holding a long note, he'd staccato it. Eg; instaed of singing yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh, he'd sing yea,ea,ea,ea,eah! If you get my drift? I find it very annoying.

I was always a little disappointed that Randy pretty much played the same solo from 1977 - 1981 too? At least it was changed to incorporate the whole band as an instrumental section on the Diary tour. Love the Rhoadster still though!

I thought it was funny with all the, "who was better, Randy or Eddie ?" at the time, that QR ended up with Carlos who looked like a cross between the two??? And he can play ok too!

I'm also glad Carlos landed in Ratt.
That last album was good and they were good when I saw them at the Cubby Bear in Chicago.

The album without Kevin is meh.

I'm totally stoked for this though......
