I think that at least on Unmasked, and probably Dynasty too, the Ace songs only featured Ace and Anton.

Look at Shandi, Paul was the only KISS member on that track.

Gene didn't play the bass on many songs, and if Paul did the lead work, then Ace wasn't involved in those songs either.

Shandi was a guy who I can't remember now. Nobody special, it's just Gene was not bothered to do it.

On Shandi Tom Harper(Gene's bass tech) played the bass part.
Oh, and Joe Walsh played the riff in the song Paul shandi from , the song is called "Tomorrow".
