Looks like a cross rather than an ankh. Keeps KISS Co away I guess. He looks pretty good here, his face looks thinner. Kudos.
Great to see the No.1 VVV in the light again too!

The Cross, the Carvin, the original VVI strap is back, and the chops i'm pretty sure they are back !!!!!!!!!
Now he needs an official photo session with his costume, this are the best VVI news since 1996.
THANK YOU VINNIE!

Let's get geeky...
Seems as if Vinnie had the wood under the Floyd cavitied out for better playability and ease of whammy damage.
I guess you could say he always had his Floyds set to "float" but the angle he had to set them at was going in the direction of a 45 degree angle from the body.
Now it is flat/parallel with the body.
I believe Jeff Beck still has that angle to his trems.
I still don't understand why he doesn't carve under his standard trem.
I believe he still uses the Fender 2 pivot posts ...
Maybe he switched back to the 6 screw trem.

The pink Jackson double V without strings he had on recent pics was cavitied out. Really ugly... On the Carvin there ´s no need to do that because of the angle between the neck and the body, which is not the case on strats. Or maybe a slight cavity for high trem bends .
6 screws trem? Oh, no! I’d be depressed if so !
I ´m still waiting for the return of the purple/silver repainted double V Jackson, the one with the shark inlays. THE Invasion guitar...

The Carvin was always a recessed Floyd set up. Quite possible it was made with a regular Floyd and Vinnie/Bill put on one of the NFTs after it was delivered. But it definitely was a factory recess with pull up route, as were the Washburn and Ibanez versions. Unlike the Jackson VVVs and Rhoadses that were top mounted when made and a pull up route added later.

ALWAYS ?
The Carvin had a professional routing before the Metal Tech video but photos from the tour seem to tell a different story.
The Washburn(autographed photo) looks to have not been recessed.

Big Ed,
I am so happy that you are able to share some authentic good will with Vinnie.
You are a good dude !
That is "feel good" stuff !!!!

Okay. Maybe not the Washburn. A higher res shot of the one you posted it looks like it is routed on the bottom but looking at the top side, it is indeed just a top mounted Floyd with no pull up.
I don’t like the Washburn now!
The Carvin would have to have been done when built as it would have meant that the post studs would have to be removed and the holes drilled deeper to accommodate for the route.

So how many Carvins were there? There's this white one from the Hot Licks video and the black one from the '89 Carvin catalog.
Any news on the signature guitars he had talked about a few months ago?

Do you have a pic of the 89 Carvin catalog?
We are only aware of one Carvin VVV.
No news lately of the new signature guitars.
