Looks like the same contols set up & "ghost" shark inlays too. Guess I'll have to ask the Ibi forum experts again now that there is a second guitar! Unless of Ibi took it back and resprayed it, which of course would be silly!

I'd say it kinda does look purple! You'd think the gold would show up against the background of the black mesh on the amps? And the creamy yellowy brown of the amp's vinyl shows up ok! Still it could be just a trick of the light? And if Rick says he remembers it saying "VV guitar hero" then I guess we'd have to assume it is the V-man till Rick digs up a high res shot! Curious that the Dean Markley site doesn't have this ad in their archives though???

That is Vinnie for sure but the fin looks purple to me on this computer.

Just had a look, it looks purple in the blown up version.

Just like Vinnie, nothing is ever clear .

I am looking at this on a different computer and it looks like gold now. Darker gold than the carvin.

I think v should have kept his normal hair in vvi.. much much better.

I liked some of the wigs, I'll grant you that, even the early look, as in my avatar, which I love. It would have been totally cool and fine if he looked like he did he toured with Kiss, but I guess he wanted to be outrageous (like the boyz that want to rock) and over the top, hence the first look, which sometimes did look cool, but not always.

Every time I see VVI toned down, it looks great. Hindsight is always 20/20 though, and it was the 80's guys. VVI was being put together in 1985. What did Kiss look like in 85/86? Nuff said, lol.

yeah, totally. its just neat (if that is vv) to see him looking pretty normal. i am very surprised that he did that.

i tend to think its just a model with vv's guitar.. i would really like to see the caption. the nose doesn't look to much like vv.

Could be Vs or just Ibanez "ghost shark tooth" inlays. Ibanez's version of the Jackson triangle.



Granted these only appeared on an Ibi in the last couple of years but maybe they were thought up back in 88'??

i think they are v too. like the washburn. the neck has no white boarders, like the jackson and washburn.. what's the technical name for that? i think it is the love kills one. the controls look the same and the pick up selector is unique on this one.

I like this one as its maybe the most subtle one. I think if VV offered me a gift (in a weird dream).. i would take this.. ha, fat chance of a gift that good or at all!

Whatever this guitar is , the shadow fins are not the same color as the "original" Ibanez that appeared in the "Love Kills" video. The Ibanez and Washburn had the same color scheme . (very similar to the colors of my Monster VVV ) This one is closer to the color scheme that was on his Carvin. (Even looks darker then that in this photo , that could be lighting,exposure, etc. ) Just my 2 cents on it...
