Riding high on the heels of two of his best releases (Snake King and Jack Chrome & The Darkness Waltz) comes
Automatic. Described by the artist as a mix of Tao (my favorite album by Rick) and Working Class Dog
Automatic seeks to marry those two together while providing something new as well. I can see hints of this concept in many of the songs but it never really gels together for me.
The EDM influence here is what drags this all down for me. There are some pretty good songs here under all that glop and gloss.
I would like to hear those someday.
I also hate this album cover and much prefer one of the album's singles covers in its place...
Prefer these over the above....
Of much greater interest to me is this archival release....
