Happy Birthday Vinnie (August 6)

For all his faults, he is the guy who saved KISS. Not once, but twice. He gave us one of the greatest albums ever (Invasion). It's a shame that same lineup didn't give us the follow up. But after freeing himself from Chrysalis, he was able to produce the rightful follow up to Invasion (that being "Guitars From Hell" or "Guitarmageddon" (whatever you want to call it). It's just a shame by the time it was ready to be released, that label was completely f**ked and there was no chance of it being released by Enigma.
One wonders what would have happened if Capitol hadn't ended its relationship with Enigma and the album had come out in the early 90's. The way Robert talked, Vinnie was ready to create music videos and tour. Vinnie has had lots of horrible luck like that. Or KISS trying to screw him over after "Creatures".
Of course, Vinnie has created many problems of his own doing. There is no denying that.
It was great Faysal had spoken out and shot down so many of the false rumors going on. He busted all those who claimed Vinnie wasn't writing and recording new stuff. Faysal knows how well Vinnie can play in private. Obviously he can play great for 40-50 people and yet, when he's in front of a crowd, mental problems keep him from doing well. Whether he's afraid he will get shot or attacked or what the mental problems with that are who knows? It's a damn shame.
I know people wish he would get out there and just talk. Play unreleased music from KISS, Guitarmageddon etc. Lock up peoples phones. And just share. No playing involved at all. Once he did the first successful one, people would come. Just to hear unreleased KISS writing sessions would make it worth it.
I hope he has a great day and he's able to fight some of the demons he has. He has so much talent. He just needs to get his shit together.
