Hey guys,
I know that I'm not the greatest about posting here but thought I'd give you all an update. First, about the VV writing project.

Due to a boneheaded move on my part, my hard drive crashed and was wiped out last weekend; ruining a lot of the original writing that I had done for the VV project. After numerous attempts to rescue the documentation, I believe it's gone for good. The good news is the majority of my research material is already on the net in the form of stuff on this forum and my hotmail account.

I've had to steer away from writing the book/article/whatever for a couple of reasons; the biggest being that I had hit a brick wall in my writing as well as hitting dead ends with interviewing folks. When I saw that Julian Gill, owner of KISSFaq was considering writing a VV book, I got in touch with him about the stuff that I (and many of you) had dug up. I told him that I'd be willing to hand over the material in order to help get the full story told. He is interested and I'm close to doing just that. Julian has a great track record of getting Kiss material published and I totally trust him to tell the story in an honest and respectful way.

In addition to helping Julian, I still have a passion for discussing Vinnie and am thinking of continuing my research and storytelling by updating the story and conducting inteviews through the podcast that I'm currently building.

The Decibel Geek podcast will be launching very soon and will be about all things rock and metal and will feature a number of interviews with rockers from our Golden-Age and this leads into getting the Vinnie story told. I've made some great contacts through the VV project and a number of these folks are interested in being interviewed on the podcast. So, I think this could be a good way to get the story told in a fresh way with a bit of humor/entertainment thrown in. The first commercial for the podcast is below. Let me know what you guys think. NO ONE is trying to defame you . In fact, we try to honor you. We have a sizable list of people we have interviewed about their history in music. Some of these people have a history with you. ALL of your former associates has said great things about your talent. SOME of them have spoken highly of your kindness and sense of humor. A SMALL NUMBER of those people didn't have a kind thing to say about you.

You guys can broadcast anything you want as long as it's true, as I'm sure you know. That's what free speech is all about Vinnie, so the truth can come out. Not lies, the truth.

ok,.. i see whats going on.. if i am not mistaken only about 50 people max will get that pod cast. if i were v i wouldn't be too worried.

i am not so interested in reading a book on vv myself. i think its all here on the board. i would make sure you have all facts and also that you have full permission to use your sources names. But yes, the truth is truth and he can not stop that getting out.. i don't see what lies you would bother broadcasting when the truth is far more interesting.

I also think more than 50 people will hear it, it's getting out there on the web now. The interesting Vinnie bits will most likely get picked up by the rock and metal websites.

Anyone with half a brain cell knows that there's a certain thing called "free speech" in this country and the last time I checked, you weren't sitting on the Supreme Court wearing a robe (although that KissWorld picture....eh,nevermind).

I will say what I please and if you have any further questions or stupid accusations, I suggest you contact my lawyer.

I have requested that the Vinnie material be presented in a special, whether it's in one or two parts or three, depending on how much there is. Let's go all the way!!

The really sad thing is that is the only place in the entire "worldwide web" that actually sings praise to Vinnie's guitar wizardry and songwriting ability! Mention Vinnie's name on any board and 99% of the comments are negative in regards to Vinnie. From the sex change crap, the lie about speeding up the tape in the studio, to the VVV guitar shape (those Dean Razors are waaaaay uglier than any VVV, not that I think a VVV is ugly) nothing is said that shines a good light on Vinnie!
