Why is Vinnie such a failure?

There's a movie I watched a while ago, Failure to Launch, and I can't help thinking of it when I think of Vinnie.

It's been too many years of promises, and coming soons. All he's been able to do is produce meaningless things and overpriced (to the MAX) things but NO MUSIC.

You gotta stop crying about the current state of the world regarding being a musical artist Vinnie. It's just the way it is, the 80's are long gone, and you definitely had your chance to make it big during the good old days.

Now where here in the current landscape, and you're crying like a big baby while EVERYONE else, new artists and your fellow 80's artists are just out there doing it. Releasing music and content, playing shows.

You can't do anything. You wont even do a video for Youtube because you think it's for free and don't see the value. This is what Polygram thought about MTV, not giving them their videos for their artists when MTV started, and they got left behind and finally joined the party and enjoyed the free exposure.

You have not joined any parties yet and your career slides further and further in the quicksand every day.

I'm reminded of all this as I just received a great vinyl release from a band local to my area, it was delivered and I thought, wow, this is so cool, and if these guys can do it, why can Vinnie not?

There's the album I just got. It was very reasonably priced for what I'm going to guess is a relatively small pressing and it just flys in the face of everything Vinnie stands for these days.

Stop with the lies and fake promises Vinnie, just do something or just go away, anything less or in between is not a good look and is embarrassing for the legacy of the great Vinnie Vincent. Be remembered for at least stopping at an appropriate time rather than keeping the farce going.

We all know you're not going to release anything, you're not going to play any shows, so just retire and move on and enjoy the years you have left as much as possible.

Of course, you do owe a few people TWO box sets now, so maybe just use your retirement time and energy to at least make that right and keep that promise.

We'll all be thinking about it unit you do, for eternity!!! My son will be telling his grandkids about this Vinnie Vincent character who ripped of his own fans, and then promised to make it right with two copies and then again did nothing but still keep their money.

I remember the ol' days when we had no idea what he was up to.
We desperately wanted to see anything, and then we did !
It was pretty good there for awhile.

Now, I wish he'd just eff off.
Then I'd stop looking on here, and facebook, and kissfaq for what I already know I'll find.
Either nothing, or bullshit promises.

They could have tried to sell the masters for 2million though and complained about free downloads.

And sticking to releasing stuff, that people actually buy, I know people who buy multiple copies of the same album as they are huge fans.
VV could have taken advantage of that.
He could done a Taylor Swift and released the same album in different coloured vinyls.
Some fans would buy them all.

It is sad but true and makes you think when the good old days were the times we didn't know anything, no information or hope for anything, just speculation, the odd tid-bit and discussing the past.

Now the information is coming but it's the same tease over and over again, or just plain nonsense.

Yep, $50 for a local album, and it was delivered with autographs. These guys are out there doing it, keeping it real.

I may be one of those people you're talking about. I can't explain why I have so many different copies of the new KISS Live in Anaheim disc. Maybe it's in the genes as my daughter did buy all four versions of Taylor's last album.

Other artists are getting on with it and succeeding while our Vinnie is failing.
