Mulder signs off...

Post by Vdog »

Something has been bugging me for days now. The accusations of this being a hate forum has been something I've been thinking about quite a lot recently since I left Vinnie's forum. I don't think this place is anything like a "hate group," but I'm increasingly wondering if my involvement this place just pushes it closer to being one. Anyone who knows me knows I've been a VV fan for a long time (since 1982), but I'm finding it difficult to be that guy now in light of recent developments. The mere mention of the guy's name pisses me off, I can't really imagine myself wanting to take an interest in his music, past or future (future, that's a joke) and I only have bad things to say about him now.

Anyway, I think that given how my only involvement now seems to be purely negative regarding this guy, I don't think I should be here because I'm becoming exactly what VV claims everyone here is. I'm just not a fan anymore and my posts only seem to show pure hatred for Vinnie. Anyone reading my posts would ask why am I here ? I think that me posting how I really feel just hurts anyone who would defend this place against it's detractors. I'm just posting hate for Vinnie Vincent and that's pretty pointless. I've thought of creating positive threads about the music in the last few days, but I can't honestly say my heart is in it anymore.

This is not a hate group, but it's more like one with me posting. I've got to go.

I get your point. And I understand that your views as a fan can get pretty damaged by situations like this.
But sometimes you have to separate the art from the artist. Even if it's not the easiest thing to do.

I understand too. You were close to Vinnie and got roasted, something I have not experienced personally though I know I'm not in his good books.

I am personally still a fan of the fantastic music and previous imagery. Not a fan of the man obviously unless things change drastically in that department.

Fair enough Chris! Come back when all is right with Vinnie & the VVFFF! It will happen one day!
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Mulder,
Your a cool dude as far as I'm concerned. You are welcome here anytime and if you go you will be missed. We all take breaks some times and do other things as well as pursue other interests. If you wish take a break, do some things that give you happiness and know that when and if you decide to return that you have friends here that appreciate your experiences.

Best wishes

No offense dude but go ahead and leave... I think you have the right idea. If I was here strictly on the belief that Vinnie would release new material, I wouldnt have even signed up. Nothing will make me hate his music. I guess I have a sadistic streak because as much as the thought of Vinnie today makes my skin crawl, I still find myself curious to log in and read about the man... as a fan, on his past accomplishments, but today, to see what kinda idiotic situation hes in now... and that is a sad reason to stay curious about my childhood idol. So yes, I understand completely...

Chris, sorry to hear feel that way. I think I just find it easy for myself to separate the person from the artist. I never spoken to the guy. Never met him. Never seen him play live. I sort of disconnect from the person & the artist. I agree hearing all that stuff about is very disappointing, but I'm still able to love the music. My only explanation is that Vinnie Vincent evolved into another person. Like when you hear that certain people are susceptible to certain illness & then there are other groups that are less susceptible to them. Maybe he also had the prick gene in him all along & all the things that happened awaken it & now it has taken over.
I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubble gum.
