KISS Dropped from Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

Well, the story broke last night that Kiss were selected to perform at the Authorised MJ tribute concert but only hours later after much angry criticism from MJ fans due to Gene Simmons' comments soon after his death regarding MJ' controversial history with molestation claims the Concert promoters & Jackson Family decided to drop Kiss from the show on October 8th in Cardiff... When will Gene learn?? This would have been their biggest gig since Superbowl '98 and Winter Olympics '02..

Although I agree that this might not as big of an event as it is touted to be, being all honestly, I also don't believe there's ever going to be any sort of "good press" from getting booted from a tribute concert.

That usually works when a band or member has the "gimmick" of being an absolute revel in a world of his own, like say, Kurt Cobain. But Gene and Paul aren't rebels, they're 60-something musicians trying to make money out their music, and NOBODY will believe they got booted for being "hardcore": they got booted simply because Gene has a big mouth.

And that's NEVER going to be good press.

No they got kicked off because the family of the 50 year old drug addict who thought he was peter pan and hung with little kids way to much still ignore that there was something very wrong with him.
