The problem w/ buying it is it will have no value as it's not authenticated ! Never invest in something that wont create value ( economics 101 . ) Would you buy tin or gold for example ! Tin does not increase in value , gold does. This guys work is great dont get me wrong but, from a collectors view it aint worth much !

From a PLAYERS view ,TJ MONSTER is the standard of excellence. Unfortunately, their isn't a high collectable value for OFFICIAL Vinnie Vincent product either.

Vinnie Vincent is highly sentimental and personal to all of us here. That is why we are here. Not because we eventually want to turn the product over to be sold for a profit.

Jeff, I am past worrying about what my guitars will be worth someday. I have tons of Charvels I won't be getting the same $$$ back I paid for them.

I didn't buy them as an investment, I bought them to play and cause I wanted them.

You either want a VVV guitar or you don't. You can buy one from *cough* *cough* Vinnie Vincent or from TJ or try to find an original Jackson one day.

As for your example on tin and gold, it depends on what you're doing. In many cases you would buy tin. Are you making a "tin" can? Then you should buy tin unless you want a golden can and that's your thing.

tin or gold can, which one is worth more ! The fact that V authenticates a guitar not to many people will want to fork out the money for only increases it's value in my mind. Not saying one could flip it right away but, 80 years from now it will still have the authenticity and be rare cuz not a lot of people bought into it , plus the story of how fucked up this Vinnie guy was will increases the money alone ! Wanna play one yeah buy a rip off, want to collect I say get the authenticated one thats all.

No offence to Tom but the guitar will be worth squat in 80 years time! Sadly, Vinnie just ain't that well known!

Different to say, Slash who's two favourite Les Pauls.......aren't Les Pauls! His two favourites (made by an LA luthier) will always be worth more than a Gibson!

Have to disagree w/ you shramiac, he isn't as popular as Slash however, he is the obscure part of KISS history and there will always be value in that alone, the shape of the guitar will be a unique display of kisstory also, Slash's guitar will be so over produced it will make them not so valuable as there too many copies !

The only thing that makes Jackson VVV's worth a decent amount of money is that they are low volume custom Jackson guitars and are therefore in demand by Jackson collectors. Nothing to do with Vinnie or his history, just the fact they are a Jackson guitar.

Therefore I have lost out on a VVV because Jackson collectors had deeper pockets.

If the Washburn popped up we would all love to have it and maybe a Washburn colector as it's a one of a kind. I don't know the Wahsburn scene so it may be in high demand there due to it's rarity.

Same for the Carvin and Ibanez but we'll never know unless they pop up and then the market decides their value.

The VVMG has nothing behind it unfortunately so if you want one get one cheap, cheap, cheap and enjoy it.

I think in 80 years my Charvels will finally be worth something too!

Great point Shram--- You are correct even though I only think it is ONE guitar- The "Appetite " guitar..

JJ,
Shram is not talking about production models even though his point can be applied to them as well.

As for calling TJ MONSTER Guitars ripoffs, TJ has made more VV-shaped guitars than any other company PERIOD .

I think most of you just dont get it, were talking about the body / look of this guitar ! Slash's looks like a Les Paul big deal ! No one has a guitar that looks like Vinnies. Dont worry Vinnie I get it ! For the rest of you he is right when he compares it to cars ... it's the model, its look, you dont see it in your local shop like you do for a Slash guitar.

jesternjeff , Man, I don't want to come across as negative, but man, it ain't going to be worth shit. Authorized means nothing, especially when it comes from a person like VV. I just saw an example, just now. An authorized VV doll on e-bay. Starting bid $300 or by it now @$400.

Now, is that doll really worth anything. I'd say not, but is all that authorized KISS merch worth anything. No, No really except maybe those original 80's KISS dolls (when people weren't really buying them for the sole purpose of using them as an investment). Is anything from the Franklin Mint worth more today than, lets say 10 years ago. No. Look @ the share market, up & down like a fucken yo yo. It's all based on investor sentiment, economic confidence & a whole lot of speculation. Nothing in this world is an investment except for land. Even buildings depreciate. The only thing that will go up in price is the Gold leaf on the VV guitar, but not the guitar it's self. You may as well by a Customized TJ Monster like I'm doing & have a real one off. Want to be reassured, befriend TJ & look at the comments people made when they saw Wolfi's guitar on FB. People were offering big money for it right of the bat. Why, because one, it really does exist (unlike VV guitar, which doesn't...his his own words '120 days to build') & two cause it is so fucken awesome & so well built & 3 it a one of a kind....just like a VV doll above. At the end of the day, it's your money, good luck.
I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.

Then buy one from Vinnie, simply send him $9000 plus $350 for the case completely nonrefundable .. then hold your breath and let us know when you get it.

The point everyone is trying to make is no mater if you have his authorized version guitar and pic's of him pissing on it and saved the piss and hair clippings to prove DNA the guitar is priced so high it will only depreciate because of what the collector community is willing to pay ... is there one fan out there with more money than brains probably so. And to him its a great deal but for the 99.99% of us not so much.

Guys, Freedom may Rock here but please remember the very simple rules of the board. This goes for EVERYBODY.
Everyone is free to speak their mind here but as always be mindful and respectful of others.

Abuse will not be tolerated, play nice, talk about Vinnie and all will be well.
If someone is a dick or abusive, ignore it and move on, escalating the abuse does not help!

Thanks
