Possibly a really random question?

Post by gonnarock »

I guess this might be a little irrelevant, but inquiring minds like to know you know...;)

Does anyone know Vinnie's heritage? Like what his background is like? I've been reading Ace Frehley's No Regrets book and he disspells the theory that he has any Asian in him. He came from a German heritage and what gives him that slight Asian look he said was from a Native American strand.

Vinnie looks like maybe he has some sort of exotic look about him, just curious if his background was known well enough.

Sure thing, Vinnie Vincent is Vincent Cusano and is of Italian heritage. He was born & raised in Bridgeport, conneticut.

Excellent. :) Thank you for that Brooklyn_Born! I should have known that, Cusano sounds like a very italian last name. Him coming from an Italian background explains a lot, why I find him so handsome. :D

KeV, have you ever seen the movie The Wanderers with Ken Wahl from '79?? There's a funny scene in the class room which is divided 50/50 between Italians and African Americans... The names you listed here make an appearance in that film

Well.....I don't think Ace really disspells the theory he has Asian in him. They've discovered Asian DNA in full blooded Native Americans. Proving that Indians crossed an ice bridge into America.

Did he say he was Cherokee? I'm dying to know if he is. I've always thought his wide, high cheek bones looked Cherokee. His eyes have the half almond shape. And his hair is similar to the Cherokee hair. It's between straight and wavy, I call it "stravy".

Notice the similarity in cheek bones?

Vinnie Italian / Irish I believe . Just like peter criss and my wife. My wife grew up on the same street peter did on the greenpoint/williamsburg border . Most parts of the north east that were Irish turn of the last century were then taken over by Italians which is why so many new yorkers and new englanders are Italian Irish. The area peter grew up was pretty tough until the mid 90s and now its the coolest hippest part of new York city's 5 boroughs . It's band and artist central now.

Ooo great point for sure!!! Maybe it was such a small strand that Ace just doesn't even realize it. Very intriguing too. I don't believe that Ace went specifically into what tribe he had, but looking at the photographs you posted, he does have those cheek bones, and his eyes. I really like that description. 'stravy.' Excellent! :D

Al Pacino was sooo good looking when he was younger. I like the dark features about them, the dark eyes and hair. Makes them look mysterious.

I love his ability to go from playing a ruthless coked up kingpin like Tony Montana to a blind war veteran in Scent of a woman and then back into a character like Carlito Brigante in Carlitos Way.., the guy is an inspiration...!

Haha it was! I thought they had a nice chemistry. I wonder if they saw each other in real life? I am not sure. But Al Pacino in his gangster films are the greatest. I remember sitting up all night on a school night watching Scarface and then going to school the next day, half awake. Good times.
