Oh dear! Oh dear!!!!

Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

A KISS medieval concept movie that was scrapped in the early 80s could soon be made.

KISS released the medieval themed record (Music From) The Elder in 1981 and the record was also supposed to be accompanied by a film.

However, upon its release, the album’s sales were so poor the band didn’t even tour in support of it, let alone make a film about it.

But now A British filmmaker is looking to revive the abandonded concept.

Blabbermouth.net reports, musician, writer and indie director Seb Hunter recently revealed to Sweden's Metalshrine that he's interested in making a "low-budget, high-concept film which will appeal to everybody."

"I've decided to reset it as a kinda post-apocalyptic road movie, but with all the signifies in place and the characters are the same and the general narrative is the same or at least what we know of it," Hunter said. "It basically tells the same story and, of course, it's an old story with a boy on a quest and the story of good and evil."

Hunter is hoping to secure financing support from the KISS Army to underwrite the film, although he says he is concerned that the band may sue – something they’ve been known for in the past.

"We're potentially reactivating some long-dead part of their catalog in an incredible new way," Hunter said. "We're doing it respectfully and we'd love their authorization. I'm hoping they'll be able to see the potential in it."

Here is the original commercial for (Music From) The Elder.

There's a book on the Elder coming out too, looks like 30 years after the fact things are happening!

Literally 30 years ago now Gene and Paul were trying to plug this to the public, and they weren't buying!

It would be a great movie.

The Tank tour was one of the ideas for The Elder stage.

yeah I never understood how the tank would fit the elder tour... there were no tanks in medieval times? I know that has been written before and I've read it a bunch of times, but the tank idea seems to make more sense coming to fruition with the song war machine.

I've also read that they were gonna revisit the destroyer stage a bit with different "areas" for each member... gene's a hell type landscape, ace's a frozen tundra, paul's a crystal castle and carr's riser a pile of stones and the stage floor was gonna be like a chess board with oversized chess pieces. also paul was gonna revisit the laser-shooting-from-the-eye-idea again... all of which make sense... but a tank? in medieval times?

maybe carr could've had a trojan horse riser instead...

The biggest problem with the Elder is that it's an unfinished story. G&P were deluded and thinking it was going to be HUGE, so they decided it would be a trilogy. So we have the first 1/3 of a story. How do you make a movie about that?

I think it would interesting if the current KISS line-up did a follow-up album that completed the story. (Make it a duology instead of a trilogy.) Then they could do an Elder tour and play both albums back to back.

the downside is paul and gene can't (or won't) even make it thru half a version of the oath or I when they joke around with it live. "I" would be a killer song for the live show... actually should've been included in concerts since '82.

The second problem is that it's not really "KISS" music or style. I think if they practiced it, they could play it...but it just doesn't fit into their catalog very well. "I" would probably work, tho.

I'd rather they played more from LIU. According to Tommy, he and Singer wanted to play ALL HELL'S BREAKING LOOSE on the last tour but Gene & Paul were not interested at all.
