Yes I've been looking into those. Idk they're very nice and all but i'm sort of looking for something more VV style like a Jackson or charvel. More of a sexy style guitar if you know what i mean.
I don't know i just need something with a floyd so i can do some cool stuff and impress the girls and try to learn Vinnie's stufff. haha
I know what you mean, there are plenty of Rhoads and King V guitars out there then. I like a strat to play on these days, so the new Charvels are really good in that respect, great guitars.
I hate to say it but I tried some of those Charvels at Sam Ash on
48th street a few months ago (former "Mannys" location) and
I was not impressed....The Warren DiMartini version was a little
better but that one was like 2300 + NY State Sales Tax.

Just pick up a cheap RG by Ibanez! 350 or 370 models aren't too expensive and have good build quality.

Dude I haven't heard the name Manny's in 10yrs. Before the days of the internet people ordered by catalog. I ordered all my gear from either Manny's or Sam Ash there. Mannys was a cool ass store. Slash bought the 68 custom from the "Estranged" video there. I had a good friend that worked at Sam Ash one day out the blue he called me and says listen... Joe Satch was playing in the background I got to hear him rip it up over the phone!!!!!!! That rocked.
Yeah, that place was cool, as a younger guy from Sweden, Walking in and
seeing all those autographed pix plastered all over the wall of these
famous musicians sent shivvers up my spine fore sure! The real deal
kinda feeling. Actually, I have a Kiss related story to it other than "Uncle Manny" according to legend being friends with the "Eisen Family".:
A friend of mine walked in on a weekday in 86 or 87 when he was there
vacationing and being the huge Kiss fan that he was got a small shock from
seeing P. Stanley standing by some amps, trying out the new Steinbergers!
He walked up and asked for an Auto and what not but Stanley seemed more
than annoyed at first, not interested in talking/signing at all, then, he quickly
learned my friend was actually from Sweden and that changed everything....
Pictures, Autograph etc no problems after that. Guess NYC fans ranked lower
for him as he was out running errends or something...HaHa..
Those Steinbergers showed up in Kiss shows shortly after this meet at Mannys´.

Oh forgot to mention, as most people here might know already,
just across the street from Mannys you also had "We buy Gits"
and in there you had the Cusano dude working as a sales clerk in about
1977-78. I actually had pictures (long story) of him/the gang at we buy,
which I have since misplaced/lost. sorry. thats prolly where his impetus
for pushing guitars stems from.

Cool story Ollie. Interesting that Paul would treat a fan so hot and cold back then. Back then Kiss were still working hard to be the stars they were in the 70's and it never really happened.
80's Kiss was not super successful and I would have thought Paul would have been gracious to a fan regardless of where they were from.
Hi all .. not had the chance to scan any more of the book and it's now on it's way to Danni so I pass the torch to him if he'd like to scan the other half of the book. Hope you enjoyed what you got so far .. I might even start working on them myself one of these days
We will make monkies of these monkies

Ah i wish someone would scan the pages with the Ecstasy tab on it. If my girlfriend is gonna make me play a whole song for her I'd like it to be this one. ha
No sir! It's one of my favorites also. I have no idea how to play it though. Vinnie's music is very hard for me to figure out how to play. I just wanted the rest of this book to be posted on here cause this is some great guitar stuff here!
AshesToAshes, get a job! Haha! I'm 17 and I work at a dance studio, but sadly, these days my earnings go towards gas for the Caddie and teriyaki for the tummy, and not so many guitar things. However, I'm looking into how to do zebra print and plan on repainting my gothic Flying V to a zebra striped one, much like what Paul Stanley played during Creatures and LIU. Too bad they don't have Animal transcribed, but that's okay, because I already learned it using Audacity to drop it down a whole step to match the tuning of my guitar

v worked in a guitar store in White Plains, Westchester, NY too (smae town Ace lives in and recorded his Frehley's Comet stuff). Tommy bought the Kent Les Paul V used to use to give lessons on in the store.
I was just on 48th street 10 days ago. I like Mandolin Brothers in Staten Island a lot.
Got it. Can't play any of it!!!! I think there are a few mistakes in it. Gave up after breaking 3 fingers! LOL

agreed doublev! Mandolin is a superb store, I picked up a Martin D-35 there last year.
Salesman Mike was more than a little patient with me....superb service and advice.
Their Guitars are also mostly really well set up and adjusted by their shop, so, their guitars play
a little bit better that they do in most other stores, my opinion anyway.
I think 48 street will unfortunately be completely gone within a few years, real estate
being the biggest culprit to that happening.
SamAsh (who runs most of that street now) will eventually let it all go and some Investment Bank
or whatever will demolish the whole block and put up a new Scraper in its place.(heard it from an emplyee at SamAsh 48th location) Bummer..../Ollie
