Favourite classic Kiss Ace solo

Post by Genebaby »

He wasn't Kiss' most technical guitarist but he was the first and the one who set the standard. Kiss with Ace and Peter was special and just right for the times.

I think my favourite is the Strutter '78 solo, it does all the right things at the right time.

With Kiss Ace did write some very memorable solos, solos you can hum along too. They worked.

Hotter than hell and even though not subtle the speeding back to my baby solo was a favourite as a kid. Some great solos on rock n roll over too but can not remember which ones.

Woukd love it if ace had come back in the 80s for one record. Rock soldiers was one of the best rock anthems of all time and should have been a big hit.. would have been great live with kiss.

judging by what Bob Kulick has said in "behind the mask",Ace played the solo in "naked city"

Yes, Naked City only mentions Anton on drums so the other instruments were played by the regular members.

Ace was creatively on fire for the DRESSED TO KILL album. For me, that album is Ace Frehley 101. He had developed his sound and style and hadn't started "losing focus" yet.

It does kinda sound like Tommy but Bruce wrote the tune with Paul so maybe it was him?

Rocket Ride is one of his best! Haven't heard that in years! Thanks PW.
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

PW, AGAIN???? 8) 8) 8) 8)    The Rocket Ride solo is the one that tickled my little peter when I was a wee lad. That is BY FAR the best use of a wah wah pedal I have heard to this day.

Yeah rocket ride is a cool song I like that one
If you see me fallen and endless fall
If you hear me calling a never ending call
If you see me bleeding I'm losing control
If you see me dying I'm dying alone.

listen to jimi hendrix's "little miss strange" solo, you'll find some similarities with "rocket ride" ;)

My information comes from Kissfaq and I haven't ever read anything about Paul or anyone else playing the guitar solo for Under the Rose but as we both know there are lots of secrets in Kisstory so I would never say that your wrong :-)
