Someone isolated this part of Vinnie's Metal Tech video out. I love this solo. Its so unique and catchy. Sometimes I just have this guitar solo stuck in my head, and its great.
I knew we were talking about this great solo the other day, so I just wanted to share it.
He left out the best part when he didn't finish out that little melodic piece @ 0:31 like on the record... instead he went right back into shredding. That's my fave part of that solo too. Always wished he would've just added the shredding at certain points so you could look forward to it instead of over doing it and numbing your ears.
I like the album solo better! Got to have some restraint every now and then!!!
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains!
I'm going to side up with PW on this one and say emphatically that I wish this was the solo that ended up on the album version of Ashes to Ashes. I read that Vinnie himself preferred this solo and that Chrysalis Records nudged him to go the other direction which ended up on the album. I don't dislike the album version solo at all but I do prefer the longer and more melodic version that is posted here as this was Vinnie's original version of the solo for this song.
I think that we can all agree that Ashes to Ashes is a great track and an awesome way to start All Systems Go.
That's my favorite solo from Vinnie ever! In this solo you can hear a little more melodic part and that's something I miss on GFH. Only shredding without melodic is not my style...
This part show us the Vinnie for what I love him so much - and he has fun when he was playing...what is now NOTHING!!!!!!
Fuck that's great... I don't know why but when I just watched that it was like hearing it for the first time in the late 80's...hit me like a tonne of bricks! Bought back a real rush of memories...
Hey man, I am cool, I am theBreeze...

I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing. I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubble gum.
I don't listen to many female singers, but my favorite female metal singer is Doro Pesch. I wish I could sing like her!!! I LOVE Warlock, one of my favorite metal bands. Good call...dad...

I believe you're talking about "Invincible"
Who's the black private dick that's a sex machine to all the chicks?
Who's the cat who won't cop out when there's danger all about?
Who is the man who would risk his neck for his brother man?
John Shaft, damn right!
It makes me feel that the song was an "FU" song to his old band members and record company. Lyrically it's pretty straight forward...they can try to stop him. Musically it expresses his displeasure with how the music and solos on ASG were forcibly restrained by showing how the solo for ASHES TO ASHES might or should have been.
Or maybe I'm putting too much thought into it...

In a heart afraid to listen
Yeah invincible and ashes. I believe Youngblood (or one of those soto tunes ) borrows from love kills too and maybe that one with the lap pedal but will have to listen again.
I think those two songs are products of their time. Very rooted in the styles that were popular then. They do not hold up as well as a lot of his other work, which I felt bucked trends.

Lots of similarities in this ashes solo to the invincible solo.. infact I feal that song may have morphed out of this solo. Even the backing track could be invincible.
i want to hear a 7 minute ashes to ashes... i really like this epic long song. I guess Invincible would have been cut if released but i would hope not. Vinnie is at his best in these epic long songs. Invasion, I still love you could all go 7 or 8 minutes and I would be happy.
sorry my writing is even more sloppy than usual. Having a hard time with my new phone.
yeah i think 7 or 8 minutes or more - like a classical piece or jazz tune. Vinnie could actually make this tunes into 15 minutes master pieces and I would be more than happy.
