VINNIE VINCENT INVASION HOT OUT OF THE BOX
New album jumps 101 spots in Billboard in one week!
The Vinnie Vincent Invasion's second album on Chrysalis Records, All Systems Go was shipped four weeks ago and has already outsold their first album! "AII Systems Go" first shipped 250,000 units and many retail outlets are now: on their third orders!
The album entered Billboard's Pop album chart at 181 bullet on May 16, and jumped 101 spots to 80 bullet.
Over 65 AOR stations nationwide have also added the first single, "Ashes to Ashes" to their playlists.
BILLBOARD CHART ACTION OF ALL SYSTEMS GO:
* entered at 181 bullet on May 16
*jumped 101 points to 80 bullet on May 23
* went to 77 bullet on May 30
* jumped 11 points to 66 bullet on June 6
----------
Then faced with reality we can look forward to:
We don't trust trade magazines like Billboad, We don't trust trade magazines like Hits or Concrete Foundations.
It's all publicity! Chrysalis got all the retailers and Billboard etc ALL IN ON THE LIE! It's' all made up. Yeah, that's the ticket! Remember--when you don't have facts-- LIE!!!!!
We don't trust anything that the label says (even when backed up by the trades).
We don't trust radio reports.
We believe Wikepedia with no sourcing.
We believe a kid who got his rock magazines at a Pawn Shop because his parents might have worked in the record industry.

Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
may i ask you politely what's the point with all this?
For whatever reason,Vinnie has chosen to not record again.I respect that. His private life is his private life.Same as above.
Many people here stayed and went through thick and thin to keep Vinnie 's name still widespread, even to the point of quarrelin in his defense in other forums. Some of the people here offered their time, skills and money to help him back. For his personal reasons, he decided to ban all the people from the forum he didn't create. Then he created a forum with an high admission fee.Somebody using the same IP as his came here to offend all the forumites, calling them names, immediatly after this place was born.people were sent here to messwith the forum and then went away. a few people who were admitted in his speical forum before he charged money for it changed their mind and came here because of the way vinnie acted towards them.Yet soem of those "misfists" who are here still defended Vinnie even after the whole TMZ news. And ,no matter what, i think plenty of peeople were unhappy and sad to read and hear stories with proof that Vinnie wasn't acting like a nice person.
Some people have been ripped off by Vinnie about the box set and they even have proof of that. They were even tricked and then verbally abused when they asked their money back.
Even after going through the craziest situations, people are still here and ,i think would be happy to hear new music from vinnie, any kind of music since they liked him as guitarist and songwriterand, as a vocalist too.
Now i ask you this:it is wonderful to have you here and i think you are more than welcome,by everybody, but may i ask you if you are here because you like Vinnie's as an artist,or you are here to prove a point? And which one? I ask you that not in a malicious or polemic way at all, but out of genuine curiosity.
There's plenty of evidence that Vinnie was badly treated by Kiss and that he didn't handle well the trials.Yet many people here wanted him to win and have the wrongs righted for him.iot is sad that he proved Gene was right when he said things about Vinnie.
There's also plenty of evidence that he did take advantage of his fans in more than one occasion.other stories may be not true but in many cases there's no proof of the contrary.especially since mr Cusano doesn't want to deal with "misfist toys".Rightfully so.But the same misfit toys have in many occasions defended him and want him to get back doing what he does best. And would be happy to be proven wrong.
No matter what , people are still here and would like to hear new music.
personally i like the people here and accepted fully the fact that Vinnie apparently retired from the music biz.I think it is a shame that Kiss is still going strong in the way they are now and V is not successfull, but it is his choice so i respect it.Same thing when Slaughter become a platinum seller.if i coem here it is becaseu i like the place and the people here.I don't partake in discussions about hios private life as a choice,i prefer to stick to music, but that is also part of the game when you are famous, can't avoid people talking about that.
Based on the article appeared on GFTPM,btw, at the beginnign of the 90's(1991) a band needed to seel at least 1 million copies to really stay afloat ina decent way.It was celòarly shown how, if you were selling 500k recors, at the end of the year ,deducing all the expenses, each group memeber was left with an average sum of 12K to 14k a year; meanign tha t,dividing tha t sum for 12 months, more or less the salary of an employee.
In the words of Johnny Z" you need to go platinum to survive"
Whatever was the actual selling power of ASG, the group disbanded just the same.Personally, the root fo the problem was that tha t was the wrong lable if Vinnie wanted to make a musical statment and a good label if he wanted to become successfull, maybe ot the right one,but becomin successfull has its price, music wise.

Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains!

It depends upon alot of things. Especially how well you did touring and how much merchandise you sold. Not to mention, who was writing the songs and where all the songwriter and publishing royalties were going.
And it wasn't just a few years later that that "theory" was put on its head. CMC showed that. Bands were selling 40,000-50,000 units, touring and doing quiet well. There was stories on the success of Slaughter and other bands back then. They recorded at Dana's home studio. I think they were "clearing" well over $200,000. One of the ones about them might have been in Forbes. Not sure...but they owe all that to Vinnie and the foundation VVI gave them.
Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
This Vinnie Vincent kid is going places. The dude can shred.
Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
Nice post Ankh...As fans of Vinnie, We all are here to support him and to do what we can, so we may witness his "Return" to the world of Rock & Roll and hear the amazing music he created !!!
Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
I think some are here to support him. If you read the posts of my "troll" you can see he has and has shown alot of hatred for Vinnie. Just reading some of those old past posts and the things he says about Vinnie.BigEd wrote:Nice post Ankh...As fans of Vinnie, We all are here to support him and to do what we can, so we may witness his "Return" to the world of Rock & Roll and hear the amazing music he created !!!
Probably why he hates the truth about things...
Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
Double v has been taken advantage of by Vinnie, more than once.So he has good reason to be bitter. But if you read just that, you who love so much the truth, you just read part of it.What Double V has done for Vinnie needs no further explanation, it is plain there. And i'm sure that you can prove your point without lower yourself calling other people by everything but their name/nick.
About what you call theory,it was a study based on an average example of a group selling 500K,and deducting all the expenses.Slaughter sold much more than that. And,btw, the whole point is more that they sold so many records. That was, sadly, the only fact that really counts.Like V did say" some park valets are makin much more money than i do.My taste is a bit more refined".Since i'm quoting from memory the second phrase may be a bit inaccurate.
Plus, Eric forwarded their cd to G&P,helping them to choose a good ticket seller support group.

Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
Thanks ankh. I am not saying these things to hurt vinnie I am just arguing that brainsaw is suggesting vvi's ash was a household name album in the rock metal workd in 1988. It was not at all.
Bye Bye

What? Slaughter sold more than 500K with Fear No Evil (Their debut for CMC)in 1995? Where did you come up with that? Like I said...closer to 1/10 of that. Maybe 1/15 or so.
Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
please read what i write more carefully,to avoid misunderstandings.I was referring to the study published in GFTPM mentioned in my earlier post.Never cared for Slaughter in any shape or form.

There were parking valets in Vegas that were pulling in over $100K or more a year back then. If you had a job at Caesars parking cars, you could clean up.ankh wrote:.Like V did say" some park valets are makin much more money than i do..
And why don't you go back and even read a VV lawsuit. Look how much money he was supposed to get or had already gotten for just 3 songs on Creatures. Or the money from Revenge.
Go ahead and tell us the royalty rate for songwriters back in 1991. Now what if they wrote every song on the cd. 10-12 tracks. That cd sold 500,000 copies. How much money are they going to make off that?? Artist royalties are a different. I'm talking about songwriting. That's how ya made your money.
Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
BS
I provided you with more sources than wikipedia to back its numbers up.
An interview with Bobby Rock wasn't good enough of a resource, I guess.
Most of us are concerned about Vinnie's self destructive tendencies. That's not hatred.

Yeah, just write a couple of write ups. Where did they get their sales figures? They know more than the label?
And agreed with Bobby's statement if you had bothered to read what I said.
Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
That song, Fly To The Angels and the whole album will always be a mystery to me... I even bought the album and was hoping that I would see what the buzz was about. Mark's voice, the lackluster songs, etc. etc... I just didn't understand. After awhile, I realized a mediocre version of the Invasion would not satisfy me after hearing the real thing.doublev2 wrote:I didnt like slaughter but up all night was an instant hit way before kiss tour. hey thanks for letting me see the light after all those years of living under a rock!!
In order:
A) that phrase was said by Vinnie. It was a direct quote.Since you're such a fan i thought you knew it,and understood the meaning. You can find it in the Kerrang! interview published in a two page spread.
B)if you are so nitpicking,go ahead ,read that article and then write to the editor /publishers of the magazine.BTW, the article was referring to a group who could wrote their own songs.
C) more than songwriting, the major issue is the publishing rights.I'm sure you know the difference.
D)For being such a Vinnie fan, you spend more time talking about Slaughter than about Vinnie.
E) Since you don't answer to our questions, often misunderstand what it has been written and try to polemize with everybody, and ignore some posts/forumites,i don't seee why others should act otherwise towards you.
If your reward is to show everybody how knowledgeable you are,and tha t you're the only one right and we are all wrong well, let's cut a long story short and let me be the first to end this charade and congratulate to you on that.
Now what?

No problem. Glad to explain it to you. That article is pretty irrelevant when bands showed just a few years later how they could make money and do very well for themselves by only selling 50,000 units or so.
Still wondering why you claimed WASP "Inside The Electric Circus" went gold?
Why not post a comment from George Sewitt where he said Invasion went gold.
Re: All Systems Go: Hot Out Of The Box!
Dude the record industry lies to promote its acts. Invasion did not go gold and asg didnt sell 400k
You did admit today that vvi coukd have been a home run.. before you were basically saying they were so at least you came down on that.
