Exciter - Rick Derringer = 5 Stars (I can't believe that Vinnie didn't play the solo)
Not For The Innocent - 4 Stars
Lick It Up - 3 Stars
Young And Wasted - 3 Stars
Gimme More - 4 Stars
All Hells Breakin Loose - 5 Stars
A million To One - 5 Stars
Fits Like A Flove - 3 Stars
Dance All Over Your Face - 5 Stars
On the 8th Day - 4 Stars

This is a great album that changed the direction for Kiss 4 Stars. Creatures, Lick It Up and Animalize were three great guitars albums in a row.

This is for me the best KISS album ever - and Carnival OF Souls!!!
The songs are rough and heavy. This album was the first album I bought myself with 10 years in a record store.
I listened it at home and was verry impressed. Wow that's it. Heavy metal for my ears.
And now in this days I like it too!
Exciter, Not for the Innocent, Dance all over your face - 10 points!
Like it up - zero points! I HATE THIS SONG FROM THE FIRST MINUTE I LISTENED IT
Fits Like a glove and the rest of the album 9 points. My favorite album ever

I love this album. First Kiss record, first Kiss gig. I was knocked out by the whole thing, particularly Vinnie's guitar and playing. So much that I found the earlier stuff a bit of a plod until I'd listened to it a lot and grown to appreciate the riffs and simple but concise Ace licks. Although I did of course find Creatures to be equally good, but I'll save my comments for that thread.

Great record. A million to one would have been a huge hit I believe, a forgotten gem. Poor taste to have the first solo on the first 'official' VV kiss record not be Vinnie, but its clear with Kiss you have to take what your given of beat it.

Paul & Gene were definitely sending Vinnie a message with Rick Derringer doing the "Exciter" solo.

This is an absolute monster of a Kiss album, and I am still saddened to this day that Kiss never worked with Vinnie again in this format. I can understand why now, but frickin' hell, talk about a match made in heaven.

The band was on fire.

It killed me when I found out Rick played on Exciter, I LOVE the solo section of that song. The whole song is brilliance, a masterpiece and otherwise excellent way to start the album. Paul wailing like he means it, guitars screaming, drums pounding, it doesn't get much better than this.

Not for the innocent - more brilliance. A menacing start and lyrics to match. The band continues playing excellently.

Lick it up - I LOVE this song. Simple in excecution, totally catchy and listenable. Still love hearing the original version to this day. It also helps when I can play the "solo"section of a LIU album song....lol....

Young and wasted - An excellent song again but possibly my least favourite on this album, if you can call it that as I still love it. Was cool to hear Eric sing it live.

Gimme more - Fast metal delivered with precision. I can't beleive what Vinnie had Kiss doing on this record.

All hell's breakin' loose - Very cool riff from Eric, rapping from Paul, a very different and great song. One issue with the lyrics though, Paul says that "we aren't always winners" and then says we're never gonna lose, ha ha.

A million to one - Now this is how a ballad should be. Goddamn excellent tune. Paul sings like a champ on this one and played it live on his last solo tour so it shows he still appreciates this tune.

Fits like a glove - A little gem which is just so much fun. Just continues the albums brilliance. Love the verses, love the chorus, love the stop/start bits towards the end.

Dance all over your face - A song with an attitude, and I love it.

And on the 8th day - A great song and terrific way to close a fantastic album. Top performances from all involved again.

I love the production on this album, just right on all counts, nothing overdone. An album to be truly proud of for all concerned.
