Who have you met in V V I or Kiss ?

Post by poserboy71 »

I have met Vinnie ,Mark , Bobby, Dana ,Paul, Gene, Bruce, Eric Singer ,Tommy ,Ace , Peter... (not Robert F . or Eric Carr)

I may have been standing next to Mark St. John at the Kiss Farewell show at the Pond Arena in Anaheim, California. I remember jockying for space with someone in the front row and in hindsight it may have been Mark . I know he was at that show. I vaguely remember someone saying"Do you know who that is ?"

I'd shit if Uncle Kev or Sandimas were there. I also went to the Las Vegas show on that tour as well as a lot of shows in my neck of the woods.

Each time I met with Ace or Peter, they were always worried about people selling their autographs. Stupid millionaires always with smart-ass comments.
They'll sign a $15.00 CD but not a guitar worth thousands. The bigger fans ALWAYS get the shaft. I get autographs for personal reasons ,not to sell them. It's funny to realize whose autograph you wouldn't bother getting if you knew how they were going to act.

The Invasion were very cool as was s-LAUGHTER. Paul and Gene have been cool. One of the coolest times meeting Paul was at the last after party charity auction for The Phantom Of The Opera in Toronto. His parents and family(his first wife and Evan-he played guitar for the party) were their and I spoke briefly with his folks .

I had to put Gene in his place once on the Psycho Circus tour in Grand Rapids , Michigan. (December 30).I snuck backstage with my Washburn 2000B guitar and got Paul ,Ace, Peter , and even Doc to sign it. Then all of us were told the meet and greet was over.
My friend and I waited outside the venue next to a car that we KNEW was Gene's ride because he rarely travels with the band. After standing outside in the cold winter night for approximately 20 minutes, Gene walks outside passed the five people that were braving the cold and says something along the lines of, "SORRY but it's too cold ,I've got to go". He gets in the car and the door is closing when I reminded Gene of a song that is on the Psycho Circus album. I quickly said,"Remember Gene, We Are One". A song he wrote about the fans and Kiss. The door slams shut but within seconds the window rolls down and Gene says, "Just the guitar ".

That second of braveness rewarded me with a guitar signed by the original Kiss members.

Peter and Vinnie are the only living members I would be happy to have diner with. I think the Vinnie diner would include him punching me in the nose, but whatever has happened I always respect and know his genius. Peter and Vinnie are the most original members in my opinion, even if Peters last two albums were unlistenable.

I would have sold that guitar just to piss that pr!ck Gene off. I have not want or need to meet any of them. They all sound like cock-smokers. Very disappointing when you know they really are nothing without their fans. The fans hold the power.

Meet Blackie....cocksmoker, meet Yngwie, cocksmoker. Meet Pete Burns from Dead or Alive, big ass cocksmoker. Meet C. C. DeVille, cool guy. Meet The Snake' Sabo, cool guy. Meet Vice Neil, cool guy. Meet Michael Angelo Batio,, awesome, awesome guy. Meet Göran Edman on Yngwie's Eclipse (1990). Very nice decent guy. Told me how he missed his family.Spoken to Kim Hooker & Jay Pepper from Tigertailz on the phone, awesome guys. Meet Jeff Scott Soto, 50% cock-smoker (slammed Vinnie to me). Meet Nikki Sixx....Big, Big, King of all cock smokers wanker flower :!: :!: :!: (Die a miserable  death you prick...cock smoker aka - Matthew Tripp, aka Frank Feranda)
I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.

Funny how thing change...only a few years before that Tommy was painting Gene's house & being a Slave-of-all-trades for Gene. 'See sucking up works sometimes'.

I met JSS backstage at a Journey show when Steve Augeri was still their lead singer. I asked him to sing "Disciples Of Hell" or "I Am A Viking"- He wouldn't. He said that I had a better chance of having his buddy sing it. :D

I met Goran at an Yngwie show. He was a nice enough guy. :D

JSS Said 'that crazy cat always wanted me to sing high'

Also meet Joey Jordenson from murder Dolls/Slipknot & the rest of Murder Dolls. Wednesday13 was a wanker. Joey & Acey Slade were both awesome. You'd thing Joey would be the tosser, but he was humble & nice, Acey Slade was awesome too. We spoke about Glam bands.

Yeah wonder what that would be???

Met Vai a couple of times, a true gentleman,

http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/ss27 ... 2029_n.jpg

Vai's guitar Tech Thomas and rhythm guitarist Dave Weiner at a McDonalds after a gig at 1am. Said hi etc they were cool even though my mate had "opened his lunchbox" and let out a stinker while they were standing behind us!!! Tony MacAlpine I think is cool because after he'd and the Vai band had finished the show and had just about walked off the stage, he ran back on straight over to me and shook my hand then ran off!!!???!!

The 2 amazing Aussie drummers and possible new Dream Theater drummer Virgil Donati, nice guy (but don't video his clinics,he no like) and Grant Collins, very nice chap. Check him out he's a monster. They both put on nice clinics too.

Nicko McBrain for a couple of hours at a clinic, lovely funny guy,

Dream Theater twice at Meet & Greets, they are quiet, ex drummer Portnoy and Petrucci the most vocal, Myung doesn't speak it's true although I got a smile out of him when I called him Sir for signing my shirt, Rudess was ok, LaBrie the one that looked like he was the least interested but I got him to laugh so that was cool. (P.S. The meet & greets aren't really worth it). Watched a Petrucci guitar clinic for 2 hours at a pub in Brisbane and he was very accommidating at that gig.

Kiss...convention tour acoustic set they were nice as pie but you couldn't get near G & P.
Reunion tour not so nice! Waited for 2 hours in the steaming summer heat of Brisbane with 12 others and we pretty much got shafted! Paul came out about 1/2 before they left to go to a shop, we said hi and he said "we'll be out soon" so we left him alone. Well, when they did come out, they made a beeline for the Minibus! Some poor kid nearly turned white when Peter said "are you going to sell this guitar?", what a turd! The kid was so taken aback! Gene did sign a few things admittedly but wasn't interested in being there. My Guitar World mag has a pretty crappy Gene autograph on it! Paul and Ace didn't sign a thing I think!?!? Ace then ran out of the van and I can still see G & P mouthing "where the f*ck is he going?"!! Ace ran through traffic and into an electronics store, so I ran accross the street waited till he came out, shook his hand (the left one!) and asked if he had a good night last night? "After the show", was the reply with a smirk!

And for the Aussie's, Christine Anu and her band. Seemed nice enough (the band I was in was opening for her) but she never paid us!! BITCH!!!!!
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

I haven't met any of Kiss at all. Met Gary Moore twice, once was waiting round the back of Newcastle City Hall for him to arrive for afternoon soundcheck. He rushed in without talking to us, but he sent security out about 10 mins later with signed pics for us. Met Jim Marshall (amps) loads of times, and been involved in some stuff with them a while ago, even managed to get a mention in one of their amp handbooks! Also met a few minor bands when we've been on as support band. Never met anyone who was a dick to us at all, so I suppose pretty lucky!

One of my favourite bands of all time, the Baby Animals, are Aussies, they just reformed a couple of years back and their vocalist, Suze Di Marchi has a gorgeous husky voice. A bit like Pink in that regard, but much more rocky.

The Baby Animals were great. I saw them so many times at one point I got bored at the last show, how bad is that.

I met Suzie a few times. When they played at the Royal Theatre here my friend and I hung out and helped the roadies pack the trucks, which was interesting.

Suzie came out and we both got our pictures taken. Then at a show a few weeks or so later I got her to sign mine. It's actually a pretty cool pic.

A bit later they played at a club, by this time she's married Nuno, so we hung out after and met them again and Nuno was there too! Wasn't expecting him so got him to sign my ticket. He is short in real life, like a lot of famous people, lol.

Scatterbrain played this same club and their drummer came out first, signed some stuff and then walked off into town by himself. The band came out later and said he always does that. They wall went together in the van.

Hated Baby animals....Safe, Predictable, Boring Aus Rock...They were the house band at Springfield in King Cross for years. Suze De Marchi or 'She-man the Barbarian' as I like to call her, called Andy (Rythem guitarest ) & Myself (P!ink Champagne era) 'fags'...funny how she then goes on to marry Nuno Bettencourt. Hadn't she(he) seen the Decadence Dance video. Nuno was pretty Glam in that. mmmmh hypocrisy anyone :!: :!: :!:

One of the guitarist, from Scatterbrain & myself (P!nk Champagne era) gave a car away as a door prise at the Cobra Club. He was a nice bloke. Think he could sense that I was a hair line fracture away from throwing a chair at someone's head. (I had been listening to too much Glamour Punx...'I got a bad, I got a bad,I got a bad attitude')

hmm .. it would have been late 88 or 89 .. just about the time he decided to bail from the music biz and run off with her .. I was in my first job after school in Lake District in England in a very posh timeshare / hotel complex .. all guests had to sign into leisure fascilities so he signed in and some young girl begged for his signature so I tore it out of the book for her .. cant say i was star struck haha .. was too busy checking out his GF ;)

Doro was in our clinic for one time last year. She is really cool but verry little :D

My clinical partner Kresi played in a lot of bands. His brother is the keyborder and songwriter and producer of the band Human Zoo. They toured with Gothard, a band from Swizerland. The singer died last week in USA with his mtorbike. So we have a lot of musicans in our clinic. That's a lot of fun.
The Scorps are touring the for the last time: the farawell tour 2010. Klaus Meine (the singing part of the band) said that this is the end of the band. That's so bad..I like the band and know them for a long time now.
THe basser of pink cream 69 is the co-producer from Human Zoo, so they are all in our house, too.
Inside the cd cover they have written: "Greetings to hmt zahnmedizin Wolfgang". That was so amazing for me and a great honor

I am bummed I probably won't get to see the Scorps live. I've seen video of them recently and they are still on fire.

I think Klaus' voice can't take it any more? Is that the reason? At least they are making the decision to stop, but they could be like Kiss or John Farnham and come back again.

never met any of kiss guys, i would have been interested more in meeting Eric Carr,i do have fond memories of his passion in playng the drums in Donington 88.

Heard horrible story about ace.Seen his concert in Munich,Germany, last year and it was the most unprofessional concert i've attended to.Pathetic.
This coming from a former Ace fan, btw.

Of the scorps, i've met Herman Rarebell. He just left the group at the time, i did have my copy of "world wide live"to sign, mentioned that i was sorry about that and he responded"don't be,life is good, man".
On the same day i'vemet and spoken woith Neil Murray, Cozy powell( who did make a public joke at expense of Rarebell during the concert) and Peter Green, the cofounder of Fleetwood mac.

Met scott henderson a few times, joe diorio,Guthrie Govan,Candy Dulfer, Jack de jhoannette,Derek st holmes, Stanley jordan- very funny incident -Dweezil zappa,Snowy white of peter green, pink floyd and thin lizzy fame,Gary willis,Steve morse, noel redding, eric bell(former thin lizzy guitarist), Gino Vannelli( he was a prick btw),Carl Verheyen. Most of themwere friendly, except for de Johannette who was a bit snob. There are others that right now i don't remember

Received a letter form Jason Becker, that was great.

i heard ace showed up 2 hours late to a london show.
not long a go and only played 6 tunes.

i played in dallas with a band that doubled as Pantera's road crew and tour manager. I only did two shows with them but one was opening up for Pantera in dallas. I think it was around 1990.
