It's nothing alike lol
Re: Syd Barrett, reminds me of Vinnie
They are both tragic musicians who could have had so much but fell short.
Mental illness, however it was brought on, seems to have played a part in both their lives.
It's sad.

If you Knock on Vinnie's door, would it be like this ? Better or worse?

I don't think he has a mental issue. He is just different...in a strange way. Sure at times peoples actions different from the norm are questionable but doesn't always mean mental issue is involved. The spotlight isn't for everyone.

No mental issue? How about the multiple accounts faking other people as members?
Re: Syd Barrett, reminds me of Vinnie
Let me put it this way, and I've said this before here, with the things he has done he either has mental problems or is one big douche of a human being.
My money is on undiagnosed and untreated mental issues.

Worse, Vinnie would be scared, screaming, and calling the cops.tukoztukoz wrote:If you Knock on Vinnie's door, would it be like this ? Better or worse?

Yes vinnie would not like a knock at door. He used to be famous for getting spooked and calling cops.
Bye Bye

I was speaking of Syd, not VV.Streetbeat wrote:No mental issue? How about the multiple accounts faking other people as members?

Oh, understood now. We thought you were thinking Vinnie had no mental issues, which is, ironically, crazy, lol.AnkhWarrior wrote:I was speaking of Syd, not VV.Streetbeat wrote:No mental issue? How about the multiple accounts faking other people as members?

Haha, oh no
But with Syd, still questionable, at least on my part.

With Syd I do think it was the acid, it fucked him up big time.

Let me just say, I HATE Pink Floyd, BUT will doff my cap to their genius. Whilst VV is an almighty player from the LAST millennium, his legacy will be a minor one.
Syd, whilst not recorded in 40 or so years before his death has cemented a legacy that will still be applauded in years to come.
There is no comparison here. Whilst I prefer VV, he falls spectacularly short of Syd Barrett.
Regarding Syds mental state, its generally accepted his over-indulgence in LSD coupled with his manic depression/schizophrenia fried his brain, to the extent his royalties sent to him were hardly cashed at all.

The only Pink Floyd album I like is The Wall, and the song Learning To Fly from 1988. I bought Momentary Lapse Of Reason around the same time as I bought Double Platinum.

Im familiar with only snippets of their work, but their Live 8 gig over a decade ago was a spectacle to behold. Truly magnificent...............although I didn't appreciate it, it WAS stunning.
Roger Waters is a fantastic talent, just lost on me Im afraid.
My wife DOES like them a lot.

Regardless of how he looks these days, I would just like to see a pic of VV at his door smiling & giving the fans a thumbs up! (Wishful thinking, I know.)
