I'll post some stuff about this tomorrow. Bit long winded... no about that guitar, but a similar situation....yes it is a bit of a risk. eg try to get to send 'other' pictures of the guitar....
I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.

...Ok here we go. I recently purchase a Chinese made TTM, from, ' http://myworld.ebay.com/guiguiseller/' It cost me $US218, (that is with postage include) The one I purchased was a neck thru TTM DEVASTATOR. It's translucent Pink with black hardware, floyd rose, two humbuckers & with the word DEVASTATOR on the neck instead of dots.

I got the guitar in about 6 days. The only problem is that it is not a neck thru, it isn't P!NK, it's RED & the hardware is GOLD, not BLACK & doesn't have the word DEVASTATOR on the neck, it has dots.

So, I'm not a happy camper
I've e-mailed 'Maggie' at http://myworld.ebay.com/guiguiseller/' & she asked me to keep it & purchase another one. I basically am trying to get my money back as it is not what I asked for. Also the return policy is that you will get a refund if you send it back, but the return postage is up to the purchaser to pay for. The guitar will cost me at least $150 in shipping cost to send it back. So now, I'm fighting with them via PayPal to try to get some money back. In saying all this the guitar is OK. The finish isn't awesome, but it is fine for $128. The sound is great. The neck is a bit bulky for my likeing, but that's a preference thing. I like thinner faster necks. But overall it is a good guitar.

So shramiac, All I can say is, if your feeling luck & don't mind the gamble, and are in the right frame of mind that you may lose $350.00,,,, give it a shot. My best bet for you if you want one that will be an awesome guitar talk to TJ-Monster & see what he can do for you.

Oh yer forgot to mention the TTM says on the headstock 'TTM American Custom Shop',,,,(Yer right) & I spoke to Stacey Blades of LA guns as he had a signature series one with TTM & he is no longer with them & not happy with them.

I've got a mate who purchased an Ibanez "JEM Jr" from a chinese guitar maker, ie; a JEM 555 (the cheaper Vai model) knock-off. He gave it to me to set up and after 2 nights working on it I just handed it back to him a told him I never wanted to see it again!!!! 2 or 3 frets had been smashed into the slots so hard that they'd splintered the wood, the "Floyd" (ha ha ha) was super wobbly and a real bitch to set up. There were high spots on that many frets that you couldn't get the strings down, well....low enough to be ok but nowhere near where I'd like them, so I had to leave them up a little. Nice paint job though and it did sound huge which is amazing for a "JEM" as they do tend to sound thin. He swaped it for a motorbike a week later so I don't know who the bigger thief is? My mate or the chinese luthiers!!!???
