Non-metal songs that VVI could have covered

Post by Genebaby »

I did a big drive today and was listening to a variety of stuff in the car. The first VVI album was in there and then I was listening to something else and I began to think that the VVI could have covered this song and it would be killer.

The song I'm thinking of is: Found Out About You by The Gin Blossoms. I could imagine a metal version of this with Vinnie and Robert sharing vocals, and a much cooler solo section.

The solo is not the best part of the song, but the song is awesome.

I only found out earlier tonight after looking them up for the first time that the guy that wrote Found Out About You was kicked out of the band for alcohol problems and then committed suicide the year after! I had no idea the dude who wrote it was dead. Crazy.

Anybody familiar with the tune?

I also found out they have released some new stuff as I never knew they got back together again.

They were cool on Letterman with Gene/Paul doing Christine Sixteen back in the day.

Yes, Very good song.

You don't abandon your main songwriter. They should have at least kept writing with the guy yet have a touring guitarist.
THINK: Porter Wagoner

Yeah, I had no idea of their history and band members. Offing himself may have been a combo of booze and depression at not being in the band.

Anybody got other songs the Invasion lineup would kill on?
