I am very excited about this release! I had no idea that Warrior rehearsed songs like Forbidden, Tears, That Time of Year, No Substitute and My Heart Goes With You, which I would guess is an earlier version of My Love Goes With You. I also find interesting that the song The Thrill of the Chase is listed as a demo from 1988. I never knew that Gary Shea was still working with Vinnie in 1988. I am pretty sure Vinnie was still working with Jimmy Waldo at this time, as I believe that was the year that he recorded the publishing demos with Jeff Scott Soto. I can't wait to hear this!

Is any of this the same stuff that was on the last Warrior CD? I am confused since it says "expanded edition", if I don't have the first one, should I only get this new one or is there completely different songs on both?

Expanded usually means the same thing PLUS MORE.
Also, there seems to be a promise of improvement to the inferior sound quality of the original release..

I hope Vinnie has a hand in this particular release.

Upon reading the information, it seems as if the previously released material may NOT be upgraded in sound.
The newly found material seems to be of better sound quality than the first version.

WE'LL SEE !

Their dishonesty is of epic proportions. Disgraceful criminal behavior over and over again. How many people people has VV and associates fucked over?
The boxset people, the forum people, the guitar people, the concert people, band members etc.
I bet we could make a hefty list of people that have been wronged.
Think a class action is needed to bring this in order.

Actually, Vinnie has nothing to do with this.
I believe it is Gary Shea (bass) and maybe the other guys in the band.
I wish Vinnie would master his unreleased catalog ,including Warrior tunes, because I believe the product would be far superior .
Vinnie has to be sitting on some incredible master tapes.

Hopefully these 'incredible master tapes' are stored in a safe, dry cool place.
Maybe some alien like/mechas being in the future can resurrect these tapes, cause God knows VV will sit on them (if they actually exist) till day dot. Sick of hearing the lame ass excuses. Said it b4, say it again, shit or get off the toilet VV.

Vinnie doesn't have the motivation to digitise his tapes for some reason. Then most likely the tapes have shrunk so timing off and needs re mastering / mixing etc. Why he can not do it is anyones guess but I would bet a touch of depression is involved

Anyone any details on how that time if year sounds on the release ?

Look forward to hearing it. I used to have a theory that it was the title of vv's nightmare on elm Street song he mentioned he wrote but didn't have time to record for the movie. I think that theory is a goneah now and most likely that song didn't exist

I want this version badly but will refrain from purchasing because Vinnie isn't a part of the release.
Hearing Vinnie sing far surpasses both VVI releases for me. That being said when the debut is the pinnacle release for me. I like Robert's voice. I LOVE Vinnie's voice.
I hope Vinnie is sticking to his word and will release the box set in the year of our Lord... 2019.

mmmh, the Art Work is better than the music.
Anyone who is even a half assed VV fan has heard these songs in multiple variations.
Nothing really New.

I maybe one of the few vv fans that love mark slaughter and Vinnie together. Great solo on thrill of the chase..
I really have to say if vv could let Bygones be bygones a reunification with Mark would be the ticket

The only thing grudges do are hold you back. If Vv Wanted real shock and awe we would see mark and bobby reunion of some kind.

Agreed.
Organic sounding.
ASG should have been huge.
Plus Mark can play guitar.
VVI could have been a more KISS oriented lineup. Bigger live Sound too.

Mark and Bobby reunion doesn't have the KISS tour money power behind it.
VV helping Gene's Vault shows was VV trying to secure himself a place on the the KISS EOTR tour.
As we all know now, that was never going to eventuate. No forgive & forget, No water under the bridge for VV, Ace & Peter from the Gene & Paul camp.
I suppose VV has acted in the same manner towards Mark, Dana & Bobby as Gene & Paul have to him. (especially, as Gino used VV for his own self interests. Ha, who would have seen that coming???? everyone )
Round & Round - What goes around comes around.

Thrill of the Chase ....I have images of Molly Ringwald crying in the rain as Charlie Sheen stares back while he gets in his Corvette, followed by flashbacks of them fighting, kissing, laughing, before finally embracing as the sun sets over Venice Beach as the song closes.

Cool solo though!

As per 'Detroit Rock City' - Theatrical Trailer

Jam:
It's a teenage girl walking along the side of the highway. I mean, they, they, they make scary movies that start out like that.

Hey, but, but they make porno movies that start out like that too, man.

If it's possible for the guys in KISS, why not Vinnie?

Genebaby, because the guys in KISS are in good shape and did not quit showbusiness and playing for more than 20 years ! Some people say Vinnie can't fly, so explain to me how he could join the tour !

Re: Warrior II

He can fly, he just doesn't want to, it's entirely up to him. Not flying is very career limiting, and he did say he was coming here to Australia last year. Maybe he was planning to boat over?

I guess no-one has seen an ex KISS member on the EOTR tour, so we don't know what form that would take.

Would Ace or Peter be in street clothes, or costume, considering their personas are already in use onstage.

We know it won't happen, but if Vinnie was a possibility he could do either as there is no Wiz in KISS, but who knows how it would be decided.

Time of year/Forbidden rehearsal session Warrior II

I received the physical CD last week. I really like this version much better than the first release. This was put out by Jimmy Waldo, so that explains why songs like Thrill of the Chase from 1988 were included. It is very cool to hear the isolated vocals on Forbidden and I really like the early version of That Time of Year. The keyboards add a different feel to the song and I think it sounds excellent. The 6 Warrior demos from the first release do sound a bit better on this new release and the speed/pitch has been corrected. I Need Love sounds prettty clean. I really hope Vinnie releases his master recordings of this stuff one day.

You are so correct!! After you posted this, I blinked, saw KISS for the very last time (maybe) and received the CD. The older we get, the faster the clock moves.
