Thats what I heard. I thought paul did a solo on one tune though. Not sure if vv played rhythm or not.

Adam Mitchell also played on Creatures. He does the lick in between the verses.

I think Eisen just "pretends" to Cusano's solo in the ILIL vid... :)

I also remember Mitchell saying Carr took a turn at the Creatures solo before Farris nailed it. I would LOVE to hear those outtakes... if any.

I thought he did the lick at the end of CotN?

Bob this year admitted that none of his solos made it onto the album. I knew it! Killers and Danger always sounded like Vinnie to me.

For YEARS I thought Bob played the I Still Love U solo until Robben confirmed he played it in an interview when asked about his "weirdest?" sessions.

Carr played bass I believe. Would have been awesome if eric had a solo on creatures.

Danger is classic Vinnie. No way it is Bob.

"Saint and Sinner" could be Vinnie's debut of his pedal steel playing on record.

Yeah, would have been cool!

Everyone would have known it was him though as his playing is so easily recognised! He could never have been in KISS anyway! Not with that goofy mouth of his under the makeup!

Hehe

What surprise me is they tried to make people think ace played on cratures. How the hell could ace play any of those solos in particular I still love you but all of them. I guess most people didnt think about it back then. Kiss could never have done I still love you if ace was a band member.

I even remember being 11 and thinking "no way did Ace have anything to do with Creatures." The lack of an Ace-penned tune with a lead vocal kinda cued me in too.

Yeah maybe I take back a little. You would have to know nothing about kiss to think ace played any solos. Now I would enjoy watching ace attempt creatures and I still love you solos.
Have to say the 2 guys who played them did as well or better than vv on that record. Actually my 3 favourite vv era solos were not played by vv weirdly even though I love vv the best.

I believe Ace could've rocked the solos on Creatures but in a different way. His limited ability mixed with his sense of melody and killer "sing-along" phrasing would've been great I'm sure.

Too bad he was wrecking cars on the wrong side of the road instead of being thankful for the position he was in with Kiss. I guess when you're in the 1% who are lucky enough to "make it" you don't stop and think about how lucky you really are.

The information was very summary in 1982, and the disinformation by Kiss, very in the point! But Ace would have been incapable of played on this album, technically it is very very basic, has one thousand place of a Vinnie, Mark, Bruce or Tommy!

I think he means to say he thinks Ace's playing is technically very basic, he like one thousandth of the talent of the other guys?

kisslolo, I see what you meant now. Sometimes the broken English is hard to read.

At first I thought that you meant that the guitar playing on Creatures Of The Night was technically basic.

I would have loved watching ace try and play i still love you solo. I mean watch him struggling.
One ace solo would have been very interesting.

The drums really sound like led zeppelin on that record and traces everywhere.

I still say Peter could have done great on creatures. He did a great job with big drum sound on god of thunder. The drums are genius on that song

Yes, a dedicated Peter would have been fine on Creatures, he was still young and strong, just chemically imbalanced to giving a good performance.

Disagree! I think the album would have sounded lifeless! No double bass drums for a start!

You don't need double kick to kick ass. Peter has kicked ass on Kiss albums, he would have managed on this one if he was in good shape.

Peter's drums on Creatures would've sounded similar to studio side 4 of Alive II... his drums on Larger Than Life were monsterous.
